Note:
IIT Madras reserves the right to revise the fee structure in subsequent semesters.
Provisions available for Indian Nationals: -
a) *All SC/ ST/ PwD category students are exempted from the payment of Tuition.
b) General, OBC-NCL, EWS students whose family income is less than Rs.1 lakh per annum
shall get full remission of the Tuition fee.
1 c) General, OBC-NCL, EWS students whose family income is less than Rs.1 lakh to Rs.5 lakhs
per annum shall get remission of 2/3rd of the tuition fee.
All students shall have access to interest-free loans under the Vidyalaxmi scheme for the total
portion of the tuition fee payable.
For the eligible SC/ST students who shall receive the SC/ST scholarships, the advanced
dining charges will be claimed from the Scholarship section.
Dual Degree students have to pay B.Tech. fees for the first 8 semesters and M.Tech. fees for

9th & 10th semesters
#Foreign Nationals with valid PIO / OCI cards (issued before 04/03/2021) will pay the
3 maximum fees applicable to Indian Nationals. All others will pay the applicable Foreign
National fees.

OPEN category will pay the fees of Indian Nationals. Foreign Nationals without PIO / OCI cards
allotted Foreign National supernumerary seats will pay Foreign National fees.
