LESSON PLAN FORM
SURNAME: Mwatale INITIALS: K
SCHOOL: UNAM
DATE: 25 September 2021
SUBJECT: physical Education GRADE: 11
TIME: 40 minutes
LESSON TOPIC:
A. PRE-PPRESENTATION COMPONENT
1. Learners prior knowledge
Learners will use their prior knowledge from grade 8-9 with the topic of netball, they can
remember what they were taught in grade 8-9 sport education about netball and that
their prior knowledge and it makes it easier to teach ever since the learners knows what
the topic is all about
2. How to address other factors
When a learner has no idea about the topic that’s like a pre requisite to them, kits an
obvious case you will start from the introduction of the topic so, learners can come
across the to what you about to teach them. With learners that write/copy the notes slow
they will obviously be going to copy from the one that write faster so we can not waste
time, the lesson will continue and finish on time
3. Learning outcomes
a) learners should know what is expected from them in the field of play and how to
handle the ball in different touches
b) they should respect and follow all the rules and technical aspects
c) they should know all the warm ups and cooldowns before and after the game for their
own personal benefits.
4.broader meaning of outcomes
To be specific this has to do with what the lesson was all about, which at the end of the
lesson every learner should be able to
5. resources to be used
Printed materials
Textbooks
Library books
Powe point presentation
Past exam and test question papers
B. PRESENTATION COMPENENT
Introduction
Netball is a ball sport for two teams which is considerable of seven players on each
team whereby games are played on a rectangular court with raised goal rings at each
end. The purpose is to score goals from within a defined area, by throwing a ball into a
ring attached to 3.05 meters or 10 feet high post. Players assigned specific positions,
which define their roles within the team and restrict their movement to certain areas of
the court
Warm up
Warm up before the game prepares you for the game mentally and physically and it
gets the body fully prepared, the heart and the mind for upcoming activity. Netball
participants require a very professional movement competency which requires skill and
knowledge capability.
Activities
Chess passing
The proper technique of netball means the ball gets lobbed. It moves forward, chest to
chest, or bounced on the court and back p to your teammate. Start the pass with your
elbows tucked in, the chest pass in netball works as well over short and long distance
Bounce pass
Learners must stand on their feet’s ball with a shoulder width apart. They must keep
their back straight and bend their knees straight. They must then spread their fingers
and touch the ball behind. The ball should be at the same level of their waists and
elbow. Move in direction where the ball is likely to be passed, the ball must only bounce
once before it reaches their partners.
Catching the ball
As a netball player you must jump or run to catch the ball whereby you must keep your
eye firmly on the ball. Catch it with your thumb pointed upwards and toward the eye.
Bring your arms back into your body so you take the force out of the pass
Cool down
After each participant has completed a game, it is very essential to take a break or
cooldown to rest. Learners will do some low intensity exercises and static stretching this
helps to improve mobility and range of movements so that the body recovers from its
extensions
Motivation and focus
When starting a lesson, give a small motivation to the learners to boost their confidence
and self believes, tell them that the topic is not hard at all and so many good things
about the topic that will make every learner to like and pay attention in the class. Start
with the introduction of the topic give them a clue about what you are about to teach so
no one will feel like left behind and they can all relate after you gave an introduction.
Assessment and reinforcements
When done with the teaching, you give a class activity to the learners or ask questions
them questions to see if they had catch anything what you taught them earlier and see
how they are participating, if they happen to write a class activity let them mark
exchange their activity sheets and mark themselves’ and give them feedback with them
class, like that it will help them critical thinking to come across the answer next time.
And at the end of the lesson tell them to get prepared for the next lesson
feedback
this has to do with making sure that your learners all have their subject guides,
textbooks or other learning resources whereby they go through it, and they are strictly
following it. This will help learners to get some extra information about the topic I taught
in class and more about sport science.
