EULOGY OF THE LATE
JAMES MUTONGU NYAGA
Background
The late James Mutongu Nyaga was born in the year 1940 in Kianjogu village, Thimu sublocation,
Baragwi location, Kirinyaga County. His parents were Nyaga Macanga and Joyce Gacari. He was
raised alongside his siblings: The late Gacai Nyaga, late Kaboi Nyaga, late Nahason Mugane Nyaga,
Jamleck Muchiri Nyaga, and Jane Wagatu Nyaga.
Education
James Mutongu pursued his early traditional education with great commitment and
enthusiasm.
Marriage
James Mutongu got married to his beloved wife, Nancy Micere Ndambiri, in the year 1978. Togeth-
er, they were blessed with several children: Simon Kariuki Mutunguu Cyrus Gichobi Mutun-
guu,Frendrick Gitari Mutunguu, Daniel Kamau Mutunguu ...and many grandchildren.
Work
James Mutongu was a hardworking and wise man. He practiced farming, both in crop cultivation
and animal husbandry, until his retirement.
Faith
James was a God-fearing man. He was a devoted member and elder of the Harvest of Holy Ghost
Church (Akorino), where he served faithfully until his final days.
Passing
James enjoyed good health for many years, until January 2025 when he began experiencing health
challenges. He was admitted to Kerugoya Referral Hospital, where he received treatment. On 9th
July 2025, the Lord called him to eternal rest.
May the Lord who gave us James Mutongu receive him in glory, for we shall always remember him
and praise God for his life.
