Think and answer

1.Many animals live in the soil but only earthworms are considered useful for
farmers.Why? (Real life questions)
Ans. Earthworms help farmers by making the soil soft and adding humus, which
makes it better for plants to grow. Other animals don’t do this, so earthworms are
very helpful.

1. Pinky collected some clay from a potter near her house. She put it in a pot and
planted a baby plant in it. She watered it regularly. But after a few days, the plant
wilted. Tell us why? (Critical thinking)
Ans. Clayey soil is not good for plants because there are no spaces between its
particles to hold air, but it holds a lot of water which can damage the roots and make
the plant sick.
