1.1 Why I choose Tekarsh Bangladesh Limited
I choose to do my internship because I have interest in IT sector and as it is a software company,
I believe that I can learn new skills related to IT sector.

I want to gain experience in IT industry. As I am new to the workplace, it will help me to gain
the experience required for most entry level positions. Though I am interested in IT industry but
it will help me to find out if this industry is perfect for me or not. I believe that if I like my
internship than my career is on right path.

Besides, it helps me to gain industry knowledge and workplace experience even before I actually
enter the workforce. They also may assist me to develop additional skills to list on my resume
that can emphasize my value as a candidate.

I had the chance to pick up knowledge from my colleagues while I was an intern. They had
always watched out for me and worked closely with me on projects so that I could look up to
them and set goals for myself. They assisted me in learning new techniques and information
about the industry that I had never understood before.

It also enables me to get input from potential employers or mentors who have already worked in
the field I want to enter. It offers exceptional chances to learn outside of the classroom. It
exposes me to new tasks and aids in my learning of task-specific abilities. In addition, this
internship has exposed me to technology, people, and projects that are relevant to my
professional objectives.

For all these reasons, I have decided to do my internship at Tekarsh Bangladesh Limited.
1.2 How I get the internship
As a student I did not have any solid work history. So, I decided to do internship to gain some
work experience. So, at first I decided to find out what career I want to choose. As I have interest
in IT sector, so I decided to do my internship in an IT company. It helps me to specify my
industry. I started to look for internship in IT companies.

At first I went to my seniors, discuss with them about my plan and ask suggestions from them.
They suggest me to concentrate on developing my skills during the internship. They also advised
to find out my weaknesses and try to develop them within this internship period.

Then I started to drop my CV in different IT companies through online platforms. As I was

predetermined that I would do my internship in IT companies, so I did not drop my CV’s
companies from other industry. I get calls from five companies for the interview. So, I decided to
give interview in all of those companies. It is because it will allow me to have options in my
hand and also will develop my interview skills.

Out of the five interviews, I was selected in four companies. So, I get a chance to select for
which company I would like to work. I did a lot of research, learn from them about my role in
the internship, future opportunities to work with. And after all the research, I decided to do my
internship at Tekarsh Bangladesh Limited. The reason to select this company is I liked the
organization culture, work environment. I also find my role as an intern here will be more
challenging which will allow me to develop my skills and overcome my weaknesses.
1.3 My interview experience
As a new graduate, going to your first interview is nothing less than experiencing life's most
bittersweet emotions. I'm not just excessively eager but also apprehensive about these interviews.

For my internship, I gave five interviews in different companies and Tekarsh Bangladesh
Limited's was my third one. In my first two interviews, I was little bit scared. But those help to
me overcome my nervous which allowed me to be more confident during this interview.

For some people, these interviews gave a positive experience and for some, it gave negative
experience. For me though it creates some uncomfortable situation but it will definitely help me
in my future interviews.

I'll never forget the first time I had a job interview. I sat in the empty lobby for fifteen minutes,
my anxiety increasing to the point of exacerbation. I had purposely arrived fifteen minutes early
for my scheduled appointment, and I was alone with my anxious thoughts. I fought with my
worries and insecurities for the next fifteen minutes, which felt like fifteen hours, until someone
else entered, called my name, and led me to a little office.

They initially enquired about my name and upbringing. Then they began to ask me a series of
questions, including why I chose to work here, how I might help them, what I had planned for
the future, how I was, among other things. They all enjoyed the confident way I responded to
them and indicated they would let me know soon if I had been hired.

It was a pivotal experience for me. It has changed how I perceive interviews. It calms all of my

made my internship memorable with their kindness.

They were all cordial. Throughout the entire workday, they were all positively engaged with one
another. They encouraged me to explore full potential of my skill sets. They encouraged me to
grow through my internship experienced. All of them always kept me motivated and inspired to
work hard and finished my tasks in time. They make me feel like I am one of them and treat me
as their colleagues which make me feel more comfortable. Even the supportive staff were so
nice. They always tried to make some free time for me and taught me many things. They helped
me a lot.

I wouldn't have recognized the importance of culture if they hadn't given me a chance. I had a
great experience working here and wished I could have spent more time with everyone. I am
going to miss this place a lot.

2.2 My learnings from the internship

Through this internship, I have the chance to explore a career without committing to anything
long-term. It gives me the knowledge, experiences, and resources I need to land a full-time
position in the future.

Newfound information is among the most crucial things I have learned from my internship. This
can involve sharping the skills I already have and learning how to complete activities that are
relevant to the career path I want to pursue.

Another valuable skill I learnt was to speak with people in a professional setting. It was totally
different discussions with bosses or coworkers than discussions with lecturers or fellow students.
Now I have a better idea of the appropriate way to behave as a professional. This will surely help
me when I will start interviewing for jobs as I will be more confident and will sound more
mature as well as experienced in a business setting.

My ability to communicate, make judgments, and engage with others is improved by working
there. I also learn that timeliness is one of the most important lessons. There, I get the effective
teamwork skills required for the project's success.

I also realized the importance of networking and making connections. I learnt that constructive
criticism is also good for self-development. Sometimes they criticized me when I made any
mistakes which made me sad but my supervisor told me the importance of this criticism.

Apart from all these soft skills, I have also learnt about the HR policies of an organization. Now,
I know how to advertise for any jobs, create shortlist, select candidates and train them.

At first, I find all this tasks I little bit difficult but over the time I was able to cope up with all
difficulties. The task seems to get easier every day when I do this. Sometimes there is a lot of
pressure at work, but I have learned to deal with it soberly.

2.3 Educational learnings vs Internship learnings

Nowadays, internships are required on graduates' resumes if anyone wants to stand out from the
competitors in a competitive job market. According to the theory, the experience should give
students a way to put what they learn in class to use in a real-world situation.

The practical learning curve of real-world experience gained through internships helps students
leave the theory of academic curricula behind and boosts their CV while instilling confidence
and competence. The job market is become even more competitive as practically all students
enroll in college. Internships provide a lot of fresh knowledge, abilities, and experience in the
sector, all of which are essential for job applications.

The work I accomplished at my internship, as opposed to the theoretical work I did in class, will
be utilized in my future. The fundamentals I learnt in university are put into reality and taught in
great detail through this internship. It teaches me things that I can't learn in a classroom, such
how to work, how to dress, and how to act at work. Additionally, working with other
professionals has taught me valuable office etiquette that will help me start my future jobs.

Though both of these learnings is necessary for anyone but the skills I learn during my internship
was more practical and it helps me to know about the real work world. This internship allows me
to expand on the skills that I have already know and also give me the opportunity to learn new
skills. It also helps me to get a professional qualification.

Academic achievement is important, but professional experience, like an internship, shows

prospective employers that I am devoted and have on-the-job training. Throughout my
internship, I picked up new abilities and gained instruction in a range of tasks and programs, all
of which I can now put on my résumé. While the classroom provides the framework for learning,
internships provide learning the form and distinction that will stand out on my resume.
Chapter 3:

Self-Reflection
3.1 Liked and disliked about the internship

There are both positive and negative sides of my internship. The most important thing that I like
about my internship was it was my first job experience. But one thing I did not like about my
internship was I did not get enough opportunities to prove myself. Sometimes I felt like I was
burden to them.

Things I liked about my internship:

 Allow me to develop my skills

 Allow me to learn new skills
 Get a real life work experience
 Helpful coworkers that always help me to do my tasks
 Able to learn organizational culture
 Learn about the HR operations of an organization
 Can learn about hiring and training

Things I didn’t like about my internship:

 Lack of work
 Lack of opportunities to prove me worth
 Feel burden on my coworkers
 Feel like an outsider
3.2 How could I improved

Internships are an excellent method to develop skills and jumpstart career. So, anyone doing
internship must utilize this opportunity to enhance their knowledge and develop their skills.

After completing the internship, I gained a lot of knowledge, but the most crucial thing is that I
discovered some abilities I lack and need to develop. I need to improve my communication
abilities and learn how to interact with clients and my coworkers. I also need to develop my
ability to function well under pressure and manage any issues that might arise.

But when I look back I feel like I can learn a little more if I did not feel hesitate to ask questions
or interact more with my colleagues. I should have more interaction with my supervisor and
could have asked about my future planning. I should try to involve myself by asking others if
they need any sort of help.

In my free times, I could read industry related journals. I could try to learn new skills when I had
nothing to do. I could also involve in team meetings and should try to share my ideas with them.
It will help to develop my confident level. I would also try to figure out if there is any
opportunity to get a full time job and for what do I need to do. I should try to do my best to
impress the senior management so that they could give me a chance to work there as a full-timer.

3.3 Suggestions

Programs for internships have shown to be one of the most beneficial options for businesses
looking for excellent personnel. Companies have the chance to get a better look at candidates
they might hire in the future. It functions as an extended interview and gives employers a chance
to observe a candidate's work ethic, knowledge, skill set, and attitude.

My internship at Tekarsh Bangladesh Limited was a great experience and it allows me to know a
lot about an organization and their HR operations. After finishing my internship, I feel that they
could improve their internship program a little more which will allow them to find out their
future employees and also will be beneficial for the interns.

Here are some quick suggestions for Tekarsh Bangladesh Limited to improve their internship
program to make sure that both the company and the intern get the most out of an internship:

 Make it simple for students to reach out if seeking for interns or have openings. Ensure
that all channels of communication are available and that students may easily access
information
 Give interns the chance to work on projects that matter and improve the bottom line.
Make them work on actual tasks, real issues, and genuine company challenges
 Educate them and mold them into the workers the firm desires. Focus on helping interns
grow because it has a big impact on the kind of worker they become in the future
 Ensure that interns are focused throughout their whole shift. Keep them interested, give
them a sense of value, and make the time commitment worthwhile
 Make a plan with specific goals in mind for various initiatives. Put them at the center of
the business and allow them take part in every aspect.
 As a company, they should make sure interns get the chance to connect with other interns
and professionals
 Always should provide feedback on the performance of the interns. It will motivate them
to perform better
 Give them the chance to shake hands with business executives and find industry mentors.

Tekarsh Bangladesh Limited ought to give interns difficult tasks that produce results. By
determining what they want to learn the most and giving them important work that enables them
to comprehend the impact on their company, they may motivate interns. They ought to formulate
a plan for accomplishing their goals and establish specific objectives that define what a good
internship should have.
Chapter 4:

Personal Development Plan

4.1 Personal development and career plan

A student can gain knowledge of the many business kinds and the opportunities that are available
in those businesses that can match with their degree goal by participating in an internship. They
can discover that the career path they had anticipated changing, and they might find themselves
in a different position they had not anticipated.

This internship has given me a comprehensive understanding of the job market in real life.
Instead of rushing to choose my job path, I should take the time to identify my strengths and
weaknesses, work to improve them, and then choose my professional path accordingly.

Though I always want to work in IT industry but I had a state of dilemma to choose it as my
career. But after doing my internship in this company, I realize that it is the perfect industry
where I can enjoy my work life.

Now, I am confident that I will work in IT industry. From the internship I have figure out my
strengths and weaknesses. So, first I need to work on my weaknesses so that I do not have to face
any problem in my future jobs. I have to create a plan for next five years. I am also planning to
do some courses which will help to develop my skills. I also need to take some training and try to
get a job as soon as possible to get more experience. For next I would focus more on skill
development rather than earn more. I believe it will help me to become more skillful which will
allow me to be in a better position within my five years.

4.2 Develop technical and interpersonal skills

One good thing about my internship is that it helps me to identify my weaknesses on which I
need to work.

First of all, I need to develop my interaction skills. I need to know how to successfully interact
with team members, supervisors and clients. I need to develop my gesture and posture while
interacting with others. I must need to know how to interact more professionally within job
industry. I can also use recordings to notice any traits or habits I would like to change.
I need to brainstorm to practice my own skills and abilities. For skill development, I can seek for
a mentor who can help me to develop my weaknesses. I should always ask feedback from them.
Even I can attend formal training sessions which focused on interpersonal skill development.

It will never work if I only focus on skill development. I also need to figure out my personal
growth and need to find out how much I am able to develop myself. I need to write down my
goals, plans and need to figure out whether I am able to reach them within deadlines.

I also need to learn how to control emotions. I must need to remain calm when helping any
frustrated clients or dealing with a tough situation. I need to try mindfulness strategies to become
more aware of my own thoughts and feelings.

I must learn to know my own value that will help me to stay consistent in my interactions with
others which can help bolster my credibility and trustworthiness. Another skill I must need to
learn is negotiation skills which is very essential to deal in job market. It will definitely help me
to resolve potential disagreements with others. I also need to develop my public speaking skills
as well as listening skills.

Apart from all these, even though I have weaknesses but I need to stay positive. It will help me
to change my thinking process and make me feel confident to deal with any situations. It will
create a growth mindset when I am working on myself.
