Abstract
This research study examines the impact of social media on political consciousness and involvement
among Grade 12 HUMSS students at Saint Claire Academy, Lian, Batangas, Inc. The investigation
employed a descriptive research method, using a survey questionnaire to collect data from 57 students. The
results showed that Facebook is the leading platform for obtaining political information. The participants
regarded social media as a trustworthy information source, offering them various viewpoints and influencing
their beliefs. The research ends with suggestions for educators, schools, and community groups to encourage
responsible online interactions and civic participation. Future studies ought to investigate the enduring
impacts of social media on political awareness and engagement, taking into account aspects like
demographic variations and the effects specific to different platforms.
