Level : Beginner 2
Aim : By the end of this unit learners will be able to identify and name common words
for clothes and ask and answer simple questions about clothes.
Approximate teaching days : 2 days
Warmer : Review prepositions next to, on, in , under by showing the objects and asking
“Where’s the …?”.
Materials needed : Flashcards, audio tracks, video file
Procedure : 1. Show flashcards and ask Ss their knowledge about the clothes. Let ss open
their pb page 54 and tr asks “What’s the colour of Stella’s skirt/ cap/…?
2. Play the audio ss listen and point. Display the flashcards on the whiteboard
and tr elicits unit ss can get correct pronunciations. Play the audio again and ss repeat.
3. Tr give the instruction “Stand up if you are wearing a t-shirt, shorts, skirt….”
and ask the colours “What colour is your t-shirt? What colours are your shorts?” Write the
vocabularies from (pb page 54& do Ab page 54)
4. Tr shows her clothes and says I’ve got …….. and invites one active student
and let him or her say I’ve got…… and listen to the chant. Play the audio again and ss say the
chant.
5.Play the first sentence on the audio(pb pg 55 activity 2) .Ss look at the pictures
and say the number. Play the rest of the audio and make a competition between boys and girls to
get the correct answer. (Do AB page 55)
Activities : Make 2 sets of flashcards (e.g shorts and skirts/ t-shirt and jacket), choose 2 ss
and let them look at the cards for a few seconds. And they have to say the class the names of the
clothes that they saw on the cards.
: Stick clothes flashcards around the classroom. Call out a word and ss run to
touch it.
Assessment : Ss draw themselves wearing different clothes. They label each one (shoes, skirt,
cap, shorts, etc.).
