Theory
El First Conditional se usa para hablar de situaciones futuras que son posibles o probables. Se emplea para
expresar causa y efecto en el futuro.
Estructura:
If + present simple, will + infinitive
Ejemplos:
- If you study, you will pass the exam. (Si estudias, aprobarás el examen.)
- If it rains, we will stay at home. (Si llueve, nos quedaremos en casa.)
Variaciones:
Se puede invertir el orden:
We will stay at home if it rains.
También se pueden usar otros verbos modales en lugar de Will:
- If you study, you might pass the exam. (Si estudias, quizás apruebes.)
- If you hurry, you can catch the bus. (Si te apuras, puedes alcanzar el autobús.)
Uso:
➡ Para hablar de consecuencias reales o probables en el futuro.
➡ Para dar advertencias o consejos:
- If you don’t wear a coat, you will be cold.
