When creating a PDF, check the correct settings in the “Options”.

In Word tab “Acrobat” → “Create PDF” → “Options”


• Tick box for “Create document information”
• Tick box for “PDF/A-1a:2005 compliant file”
• Tick box for “Create Bookmarks” → “Convert Word Headings to Bookmarks”

(2) Using the print menu

In Word tab “File” → “Print” → Printer: “Adobe PDF” → “Printer Properties” →


Default Settings: “PDF/A-1b:2005 (RGB)”
Please note: There is no known setting to include formatted headings in the
bookmark bar of the PDF file.
