Objectives of Integrated Transport System

• To provide effective interconnections between


transport modes and services, thereby
ensuring efficient and seamless travel for the
commuting public
• To lessen vehicle density by preventing
provincial buses from entering Metro Manila
– In 2013, there are 8,285 registered provincial
buses bus units plying MM

Mandate: Establishment of 3 mass


transportation intermodal terminals at the
outskirts of Metro Manila

1. Southwest Terminal to serve passengers


from the Cavite side
Philippine Reclamation Area (PRA) near Uniwide
Coastal Mall in Paranaque City

2. South Terminal to serve passengers from


the Laguna/Batangas side
Food Terminal Incorporated (FTI) Site in Taguig City

3. North Terminal to serve passengers from


northern Luzon
Near the Northern segment of EDSA

An integrated bus terminal provides for:
• State-of-the-art amenities for passengers and bus
operators
• Seamless transfers for the passengers
– Fixed departure schedules for provincial buses
– Centralized ticketing system for provincial buses
– Availability of other transport modes (city bus, PUJ,
AUV) at one location
• Helps in eradication of illegal bus operations
• Increased tourism using public transport
