Hi everyone,
Today I want to share a TED Talk that I found really interesting.
It’s called “Your Body Language Shapes Who You Are” by Amy
Cuddy.
In the talk, she explains how our body language doesn’t just affect
how people see us — it also changes how we feel about ourselves.
That part really surprised me.
She introduces something called “power poses.”
A power pose is when you stand or sit in a way that takes up more
space — like standing tall, opening your arms, or putting your hands
on your hips like Wonder Woman.
These poses might look simple, but they actually help us feel more
confident.
Amy says if you do a power pose for just two minutes, it can help
you feel less nervous and more powerful.
It’s especially useful before stressful situations — like interviews,
giving a presentation, or even just talking to someone important.
At first I thought, “Can a pose really change how I feel?”
But she shows that our body can actually send signals to our brain.
So when you stand in a strong position, your brain starts to believe
you are strong.
I really like this idea because it’s something easy that anyone can
do.
You don’t need special training, and you don’t need to pretend to be
someone you’re not.
You just need two minutes and a little space.
Next time I have something stressful, like a report or a test, I’ll
definitely try doing a power pose first.
Even if it only helps a little, it’s still worth it.
So yeah, that’s what I learned from Amy Cuddy’s talk.
Confidence isn’t always something we’re born with — sometimes,
we can create it with small actions.
