Internships offer several advantages for students before graduating from university.
Firstly, internships provide opportunities to apply theoretical knowledge gained in
university to practical situations. At the same time, students will have chances to learn
hands-on knowledge about their careers. This helps them develop practical skills,
problem-solving abilities, and adaptability in a working environment. Secondly,
internships allow students to build a social network with mentors, supervisors, and
colleagues. This can lead to future job opportunities, references, and industry
connections.
2. Do you think an open office with co-workers or a private space offers the best
environment?
I think an open office with co-workers offers the best environment. Because when
working in a private space, employees will have difficulties in communicating with
each other. This will lead to misunderstandings or interruptions in handling problems .
For example, I worked in the customer service department for a fashion brand for 1
year. Last month, I had a trouble with my customer. She placed an urgent order on our
website to give her friend as a birthday gift. However, her order wasn’t delivered to
her on time, so she contacted us to request a return. I was very confused because this
was the first time I faced that problem. So I asked my co-workers’ help. And because
where I worked was a private space, I needed a lot of time to receive co-workers’
advice. Therefore, I didn’t handle my customer’s problem timely and she was very
disappointed with our service.
3. What is more important for employees working at a startup company?
Responsibility/ Intimacy among coworkers/ Promotion opportunities.
I think responsibility is more important for employees working at a startup company.
Because they often take on multiple roles and handle diverse tasks. Having
responsibility allows employees to promote their professional growth, skill
development, and adaptability by learning new skills, dealing with challenges, and
contributing meaningfully to the company's goals. For example, 3 years ago, my sister
got a new job at a startup company. Because it was a startup company, there were very
few employees. So my sister took on a lot of roles, from sales to marketing and
customer service. Although she was very hard at first, she can do everything easily
now.
