CHAPTER 1

The revelation of Jesus Christ

1The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave to him, to
to manifest to his servants the things which must happen
soon; and he declared it by sending it through his angel to

The book of Revelation is precisely what its name

As this first verse of Revelation rightly says, these things, the

Here Juan is used as a spokesperson to convey these

solemn news of a soon coming trial, not only
for the Gentiles but also for the house of Jehovah.

In His immense love, our good God has promised not to

do nothing without having revealed it beforehand. But the
Announcing it does not mean that everyone will accept it.

Blessed is he who reads, and those who hear the words
of this prophecy, and keep the things written in it;
because the time is near.

We also have the most certain prophetic word, to the

you do well to be attentive like to a torch

that shines in a dark place, until the day clears up

It is of vital importance that the Church of Christ can

understand the prophecies that were made for your
time. Satan will do everything possible to prevent it from

We see that they are related as sent wishes.

by the apostles Paul and Peter to the scattered Churches

Here the apostle John sends the same wishes and the
message received from Jesus Christ, not only to the
seven churches contemporary to him, but he does it
extensive to us today. To all those who like
Pablo says in 1 Cor. 1:2, 3 that they are "sanctified in Christ."

Here we have an interesting fact: These seven are
the eyes of the Lord. (and it's not that He literally possesses

In the previous verse, we saw something about the seven.

lamps and we know that one of the elements of
the sanctuary is the candlestick. Moreover, the text we read from
Hebrews speaks to us about 'having to give account'. We see
that little by little we are being introduced into the sanctuary
celestial so that we can understand its functioning and the
that Christ is doing there for his people from all the
ages and for us right now.

Here Christ is mentioned as the 'faithful witness and

Because every high priest taken from among the

men is constituted in favor of men in what

Here we see a Christ that can be "put in our
place" for it has already been in our own
circumstances. And what better Comforter than He who
understands exactly what we are going through and that
knows exactly what we need to move forward.

And we complete the idea of what Christ is doing now...

For Christ did not enter a sanctuary made by human hands, which was only a copy of the true one; he entered heaven itself, now to appear for us in God’s presence.

24Because Christ did not enter the sanctuary made by hand,

He washed us from all sin

We are not going to explain each concept in detail for each
verse, even though it would be good to do so, we are going to go to a
observation based on what has been previously read.

In Colossians it says that the believer must arrive

to be holy and blameless before him
and perfect in Christ Jesus

Now, the question would be if something washed can

stay clean. And the answer would be: it depends on
how much care is taken not to get dirty.

Christ has washed us with his blood and desires that

Christ has the power to forgive our sins, from

The sovereign of the kings of the earth

We found two references to Christ as King of kings.

and Lord of lords in the Apocalypse, which say:
Apocalypse 17:14 "They will fight against the Lamb, and the
The Lamb will overcome them, for he is Lord of lords and
King of kings; and those who are with him are called and
chosen and faithful.

Revelation 19:16 'And on his vesture and on his thigh

glory and empire for ages of ages. Amen.

Here we see that the worship of Jehovah is highlighted for

part of them, who not only recognize him as their
God, but they join the entire universe in worshiping
the only King of heaven for all eternity.

There will be a group of human beings who, through Christ

will be converted into kings and priests for God. Kings
because they will represent the kingdom of heaven here in the
earth, and priests since they will be able to "intercede" so that
others are part of this same reign as well
through the transmission of the message of the gospel of
salvation.

Revelation 5:10:

and has made us kings and priests for our God, and
we will reign over the earth

That is why Christ is 'King of kings' not because he reigns over

every earthly king chosen by man
(besides that, of course) but because he himself has
chosen "kings", who in turn are governed by him
same for its representation in this land.

This town has a message, the message that Christ gave to it.
has transmitted and cannot silence. A message from
love and of admonition. A message of preparation and
of decision.

And they are compelled by the spirit of Christ to give it with

promptness, as each soul is so valuable in the eyes
of God who must receive all the opportunities
necessary to make an informed decision in favor or
against this message and even more when it is

The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.

There will be a people on earth who will carry out in a loud voice the

7saying with a loud voice: Fear God, and give Him glory,

And in Revelation 5:12 it says:
12theysaid with a loud voice: The Lamb that was slain is
worthy of taking power, riches, wisdom, the
strength, honor, glory and praise.
Revelation 4:11
11Lord, you are worthy to receive glory and honor and the

power; because you created all things, and by your

There will come a time when everyone will recognize Christ.

to the throne, and to the Lamb, be praise, honor, and glory
and the power, for ever and ever.
And finally the triumphant people will be transferred to heaven
to live in the heavenly mansions and thus
will fulfill the promise:

And they will bring the glory and honor of the nations to it
the Holy City) Revelation 21:16

7 Behold, he comes with the clouds, and every eye will see him, and
those who transferred it; and all the lineages of the earth

Acts 1:9-11
9And having said these things, seeing him, it was

Here in this text Christ is shown in all his

divinity. We see him as God of all times,
both past and present and future. Here it says 'the one who

In acceptable time I have heard you,
And in the day of salvation I have helped you. Behold
now the acceptable time; here now is the day of
salvation.
Hebrews 3:15

A vision of the Son of Man

I, Juan, your brother, and your co-participant in the
tribulation, in the kingdom and in the patience of Jesus Christ,
I was on the island called Patmos, because of the
word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Here Juan describes himself as a co-participant.

Juan also highlights two characteristics that they have in
common the children of God of all ages and that, by

They will suffer tribulation

They will patiently keep their faith in Jesus

Tribulation

Whenever God has kept a people uplifted

destroy all good influence produced by them. This
has made (and will make) every true child of God suffer
of tribulation because of their faith.

In the patience of Jesus Christ

The word 'patience' related to the saints appears

seven times in the apocalypse. It appears as a
distinctive characteristic of the siblings of some of
the churches and also in the context of persecution and
tribulations (Rev. 2:3 - Rev. 3:10 - Rev. 13:10)

Apo. 2:2,3 as a characteristic of the church

Ephesus
Apo. 2:19 as a characteristic also of the
church of Thyatira
Revelation 3:10 and also of Philadelphia

Revelation 14:12: Here is the patience of the saints,

those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of
Jesus.

This word also appears in other books of the Bible.

and we are going to put only a few verses to

For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise.
36because patience is necessary, for what
having done the will of God, you may obtain the

James 1:3
3knowing that the testing of your faith produces
