The objective of my discussion board post is to offer a summary of my action plan and an
explanation of how I view the leadership assessment findings. Following the completion of the
leadership assessment form, I came to the realization that the areas in which I excel are the
implementation of strategies, the embodying of the vision, and the evaluation of effect (NHS
Leadership Academy, 2011). These are the fields in which I think I marked lower and upon
which I have to improve: seeking opportunities for debate on the future of the health service;
seeking opportunities for influencing key decision makers who will shape future government
policy affecting the National Health Service and its services (Hosmer, 2012); and seeking
opportunities for influencing vision of the wider health system.
I have faith in myself to effectively implement and assess new strategies that have been
set up by one or more people. My lack of confidence would make it hard for me to research,
create new policies, and implement them that have an impact on the National Health Service and
the services that it offers (DeNisco, 2024). Prior to having discussions about the future of
healthcare with members of the key team, there is a need to have lots of self-confidence as well
as carrying out research. One of the likely repercussions of not sitting down to discuss the future
of healthcare is the use of outdated methods in the healthcare sector, which could place the
patient at risk of injuring themselves in an accident or of being harmed. One of the methods
through which I intend to overcome my lack of confidence is by learning as much as possible
prior to conversation with the team. This will ensure that I am in a position to offer solutions to
any questions that may be asked. One of the resources or aids that will be needed for this action
plan is going to be the latest literature on the specific topic that will be presented. Rehearsing my
presentation is a second way that I can enhance my self-confidence so that I can have productive
discussions with the most important members of the healthcare team. Training is the key to
mastery.
