Introduction
I have been tasked with investigating the ethical use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the
education and training sector. The investigation focuses on exploring how AI can enhance
learning experiences while addressing challenges such as lack of clear regulations, resistance
from educators, high implementation costs, over-reliance by students, and cultural or ethical
differences. Key aspects include bias and fairness, data privacy and security, transparency,
accountability, and the impact on human interaction. The purpose of the investigation is to
examine how AI can provide personalized and adaptive learning, automate administrative
tasks, increase accessibility and inclusion, enhance skill development through simulations
and virtual reality, and optimize overall educational systems. In Phase 1, I plan to define
tasks, create a focus question and research questions, gather information using the internet,
questionnaires, interviews, and academic sources, and critically assess the reliability of the
information collected. Phase 2 involves designing questionnaires, inputting data into
Microsoft Excel and Access for analysis using functions like COUNTIF and queries, and
interpreting the results. Finally, in Phase 3, I will compile my findings into a comprehensive
report and create a website using HTML to share my research with a wider audience,
particularly high school students, to educate them on the ethical use of AI in education.

Task Definition
My name is Thanda Anele Mngadi, I am a grade 12 student going to Avoca Secondary School
doing the subject Computer Application Technology. I have been given the task to
investigate the ethical use of artificial intelligence in the education and training sector.
I have given a task to find out about the ethical use of Artificial Intelligence can discover new
horizons in the Education and Training sector.
CHALLENGES
 Lack of Clear Regulations:
There is no universal standard for ethical AII use in education.
 Resistance from Educators:
Some teachers may resist AI adoption due to fear of job displacement or lack of
training.
 High cost:
AI implementation requires significant investments in technology and infrastructure.
 Student depend on AI:
Over-reliance on AI can weaken critical thinking and problem solving skills.
 Cultural and Ethical Differences:
AI ethics vary across regions, making global implementation complex.

ASPECT:
 Bias and Fairness:
AI system can reinforce biases if trained on unbalanced data, leading to
discrimination in grading or student evaluations.
 Data Privacy and Security:
AI requires large a mouth of student data, raising concerns about privacy and
cybersecurity.

 Transparency and Explain ability:
AI decisions should be understandable to educators, students, and parents.
 Accountability:
Who is responsible when AI makes an incorrect or unfair decisions?

 Impact on Human Interaction:
Over-Reliance on AI tools may reduce teacher, student engagement, impacting
students social and emotional learning.

PURPOSE:
 Personalised and Adaptive Learning:
AI can customize learning content based on individual student performances, making
education more effective and engaging.
 Automation of Administrative:
AI can assist educators by automating grading, scheduling, and attendance tracking,
allowing them to focus more on teaching.
 Increased Accessibility and Inclusion:
AI tools, such as speech-to-text and language and translation software, help students
with disabilities and language barriers.
 Purpose of AI in Education and Training:
The main aim of integrating AI into education is to improve learning experiences,
optimize teaching methods, and create more efficient educational systems.
 Enhanced Skill Development and Training:
AI-powered simulations and Virtual Reality(VR) offer immersive hands-on training in
field such as medicine, engineering, and aviation.

On phase I intend doing the following:

 Creates a task definition which gives a detailed description of the work to be done,
specifying the objectives, requirement, and steps needed to complete a task.
 Create a focus question which a clear and specific question that guides thinking,
discussion, or research on the topic of artificial intelligence. It helps to direct to key
aspects of the subject and ensure that responses stay relevant and meaningful.
 Developing research question which me get information on how artificial intelligence
can revolutionize the education and training sector.
 I will use various methods to help me get information about this which is using the
internet creating questionnaires, conducting interviews and reading though books
and journals.
 I will also have to critically assess information sources by checking the authors
credibility, verifying with other sources, checking whether the information is factual
or based on opinion.
PHASE 2
On phase 2 I intend on doing the following:

 On phase 2 I intend on drawing up questionnaires that can give me information on
my topic based on the opinion of individuals.
 I will insert the following information though programs like Microsoft Access and
Excel Spreadsheet, so that it makes it easier for me to analyses data given from the
individuals, I can do this using certain function in Microsoft Excel like count if which
will help me count certain outcomes in a range according to a specific criterion and I
also can use report and queries in Microsoft Access which will allow me to retrieve,
filter, sort and analyse data from one or more tables based on specific criteria’s.
PHASE 3
In phase 3 I will perform the following:
 I am going to round up my practical assessment task in phase 3 by creating a report
regarding the findings from my investigation, thereafter I will create a website
through html to provide an online platform for sharing my information with the
world to help educate and engage with a wide audience.
 My target audience for this investigation is high school with the purpose of
enlightening them on ethical use of artificial intelligence.

emerges as the most common misuse at 36%, followed by data mining at 28%, and AI fraud at 20%.
Cheating is the least common misuse, but still accounts for 16%. This graph emphasizes that
plagiarism is the biggest concern when it comes to unethical use of AI, but other forms of dishonesty
such as data mining, fraud, and cheating also play a significant role.

The graph illustrates the accuracy rate of plagiarism detection. It shows that the highest possible
response achieves an accuracy of 95%, making it very reliable in identifying plagiarism. On the other
hand, the lowest possible response records only 65%, which reflects weaker detection ability. This
creates a 30% gap between strong and weak responses, highlighting that while plagiarism detection
can be effective, it is not always consistent.
