POWER OF PRAYER

EXODUS 4:1
» 1 † ¶ And Moses answered and said, But, behold,
they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my
voice: for they will say, The LORD hath not
appeared unto thee.
EXODUS 4:2

» 2 † And the LORD said unto him, What is that

in thine hand? And he said, A rod.

Now, you know, no--no matter how mysterious it

seems, God always keeps His Word. No matter
how unreasonable it may seem to people, God
keeps His Word. And if God makes a promise of
anything, God will keep that promise. You and I
make a promise, we--we break it because we don't
mean to have to do it, but sometimes
circumstances causes us to do it.

But when God, being infinite, then He knows all

the future from the beginning, and He can't... He
don't make a--a promise 'less He--He knows
what's going to happen. And He always keeps His
promise.

Sometimes it seems like it's--it's ridiculous

the way that He would go around about to
keep His promise, but God always does it.

He told Noah it was going to rain. It never rained

for a hundred and twenty years,

but it rained.
He told Abraham he was going to have a baby by
Sarah. It never happened for twenty-five
years, but SHE had it.

Told Isaiah a virgin was going to conceive. It never

happened for eight hundred years, but she
conceived.
Is that right? He promised it! No matter how
long it takes, He does it, anyhow. You believe
that.

GOD TOLD ABRAHAM HIS SEED WOULD SOJURN

THE CONDITIONS IN EGYPT GREW WORSE AND
WORSE

AMRAM SAW THE CONDITIONS THE BITTERNESS

OF BONDAGE HE BEGAN TO COME UNDER THE
BURDEN FOR DELIEVERANCE.

And as we can see Amram, on those wearying

nights, back bleeding, climbing up the steps again,
until two and three o'clock in the morning, praying,
and seem like you just talking to the wind; but
down in his Jewish heart there burned a faith,

GOD PROMISED DELIEVERANCE

that no winds of doubt could ever blow out. That's
the kind of men and women we need to rise on the
scene today. If He doesn't answer tonight, He will
tomorrow night. If He doesn't answer this year, He
will next year, for He's a God--not "a" God--but
"the" God.
God wants His people to pray. And when
Israel got so taxed in such a condition that
they could not go any farther, their time was
fulfilled and their burdens was--lay farther
than what they thought, then they begin to
pray.
And when the people begin to pray, then God
begin to hear. It was time for God's Word to
be fulfilled.
ONE NIGHT SO TIRED PRAYING ON THE ROOF
JUST LAYS DOWN TO JUST TO REST A MOMENT
HE FALLS ASLEEP

He woke up. "What's the matter? Look around

here. Where's that Light coming from? Oh, look,
standing there in the corner." There stood an
Angel, His sword hanging there on His side. Oh, he
looked again, and he rubbed his eyes. He pulled up
on his knee; he said, "Lord. Oh, oh, what--what
would You want of me?"
He said, "Amram, I am the Angel of God. I've been
sent from heaven to tell you God heard your
prayers. And I've come to tell you that He's going
to send a deliverer. He remembers all of His
promises." I see the Angel now; look at Him; he's
pulling out this sword, he points it to the north.
Amram looks. He said, "Just the point of this sword
lays the promised land. And I promised Abraham,
Isaac, and Jacob, your fathers, that you people
would inherit that land. And I've heard the
groaning of the people; I've heard the crying of the
children; and I'm come down. And I want you to
know that you're going to play a great part in this,
Amram, because you were faithful in prayer. You
were faithful in your house. And about this time
next year, Jochebed, your lovely little wife, is going
to embrace a little baby boy. And that little baby
boy is going to be a deliverer." Glory.

4 And the LORD said unto Moses, Put

forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And
he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it
became a rod in his hand:

17 And thou shalt take this rod in thine
hand, wherewith thou shalt do signs.

20 And Moses took his wife and his sons,
and set them upon an ass, and he returned to

MOTHER IS CALLED AND GETS IN FRONT OF THE
PROPHET

Then the--the Holy Spirit said to the little woman,

told her who she was, and said, "You have your
baby for a certain cause." And that was right, she
said. But said, "The baby's already been healed.
The blessing is on the baby. There was a little
woman, that's got certain color hair, wearing a
little checkered dress." Said, "That's her setting up
in the balcony, right up there. The Lord has just
healed the baby."

You see how the Holy Spirit works? That woman

thought because I was the evangelist, oh, I
had the powers to do the healing, and it
should be me. But, see, I couldn't have
compassion on that baby like that mother could.
And the Holy Spirit didn't choose for me to
pray for the baby, It chose the little mother
to pray for the baby. And God honored and
healed that baby, and it got absolutely well.
We received its testimony.
Every man, today, knows that he can take the
Name of Jesus Christ and meet any foe at any
place, any time, and he will be defeated. I've
met witch-doctors. I've met demons of all
sorts and never seen a time but what they'd
bow to the Name of Jesus Christ.

When Moses went down to Egypt, if they

could ever got that stick out of his hand, they
had him whipped. But in that stick was where
the power laid. If they ever got the stick out
of his hand, they had him whipped.
Remember, it was the stick that smote the
rock. It was the stick that they held to the air.
It was the stick that held over the waters. It
was God's judgment rod.
And what--what the stick was in Moses' hand,

the Name of Jesus Christ is to the borned

again Church. Amen

Oh, that Name, take the Name of Jesus with you,

child of sorrow and of woe. When temptations
around you, breathe that Holy Name in prayer.
Watch demons scatter. Yes, sir.
The Name of Jesus Christ...
And when men and women quit looking at their
sickness and diseases, and start looking to what
God said about it, you'll take over. Amen.

All things are subject to Jesus Christ. And all

things are subject to you in prayer, when you
ask in His Name and believe. Amen.

THE POWER OF PRAYER IS IN THE NAME OF

JESUS.

And after all, this... It's--it's prayer is the most

vital force that God ever put into the hand of
mankind.

The most effective force that's known to man, is

prayer. Do you believe that? It is.
GOD HAS GIVEN US THE WEAPON OF PRAYER.

PRAYER IS OUR WEAPON.

It's prayer that changes things.

Prayer is what does the work.

Now, look what prayer does. Prayer changed

from death to life.
 God had said, "The man's going to die." And
I believe Isaiah told the truth. He was borned
a prophet, and his words were true and came
from God.
And then Hezekiah's prayer changed the
opinion of God. Oh, my. I like that. Prayer
changes things. It's the most powerful force
that God ever put in the hands of man, is a
sincere prayer offered to God.

Jesus said, "Whatever you ask the Father in

My Name, that I'll do." Believe it. Try it once,
and see if it isn't true.

You got the greatest weapon in the world in

your hand: prayer.
Prayer is the most powerful weapon was ever

PRAYER IS THE KEY.. WHEN IT SEEMS THAT

man calls foolish, God calls great. So what we've
got to do is get back into the program of God and
find out, after all, what God wants us to do. And
the only way I know to do it is prayer. Prayer is
the key. That's the answer. Prayer changes
things. Prayer is the most powerful weapon
that was ever put in the--the control of
human beings.
There's no atomic bomb, or no hydrogen
bomb as powerful as prayer. Prayer will
change the mind of God. Did you know that?

he knew if he could ever pierce through that
symptoms, three miles of water, through the
whale's belly, onto the temple and get a prayer
through to God, something was going to happen.

Why, he had faith. \ And Jonah believed if he could
look towards that temple,

He said, "Lord, once more I look to Your holy

temple." Hallelujah. Didn't see whale's belly, he
seen God's temple. For he kNEW IF HE LOOKED
TOWARD THAT TEMPLE AND PRAYED SOMETHING

Jonah believed that God heared Solomon's

that old whale kinda feel funny, and God put an
oxygen tank down there, kept him alive three

But he prayed earnestly that it might not rain.
And it rained not for the space of three years
and six months. Think of that. God listened to
a mortal's prayer.

And I say this with--with all true reverence:

there is not another force on earth; there's
not nothing on earth, no matter what it is,
what kind of gifts it is; there's nothing in the
world that will come ahead of prayer.

LET EVERYTHING BE SECONDARY BUT YOUR

PRAYER LIFE,
I'm not saying that to scare you. I'm saying it just
as sanely as I know how to stand here in this
platform and say it. But my heart's been stirred for
a time. And I know that we're ready for something.
Now, come in. And you Christians, don't stay in
that lukewarm condition any more. Lay aside
everything. Just get as

close to God as you can. Walk with Him, talk with

Him.
Let everything else be secondary but your
prayer life. Stay right with Him all the time

David. He wrote one time in the Psalms; he said, I
believe the 47th Psalm, he said, "As the hart
thirsts for the water brook, so my soul thirsts
after thee, O God." Oh, when I think of that,
David being a woodsman. And I been through that
part of the country; you find out a lot of times
there's a lot of deers that roam. The hart is a deer.
And if you watch nature you'll see God. And
they'll have wild dogs in that country. And
they eat the deer. They would come in packs.
And they overtake the deers. And one of the
things they do is cut the little, what we call
hamstring in the back, the leaders.
And just cut out a whole pack. Then they can't run.
Those dogs will eat as much as they can; then the
others can't pull away very much. And then they're
easier prey then to run right back and get them.
That's the way the devil does. He will cut you off
from prayer meetings. He's done cut the
hamstrings right then. You'll pull around from this
church to that, and you'll run from here to there,
but any time the devil wants to gobble you up, he's
got you under his control. When he cuts your
prayer life, brother, you're gone. That's right.

When he cuts that thirst off of you and perverts it

into the things of the world, he's got you where he
wants you. He will let you gobble along here till
you get to a certain place then crash your life out
without God right there. Sure he will.

Oh, may we all not just take this as a lecture,

but may we solemnly, solemnly take the
warnings of the Holy Spirit and pray day and
night. Don't let nothing stop you from
praying.

heard you. Now, isn't that what you were
praying?

heard your prayer. You was silently praying,
but He let
me know your prayer. You said, "Lord, let him
call me next. Let it--this time be my time."

Something happened then. Now, everybody

real reverent. Somebody was praying. Oh,
here it is. Praise be to God. Thank you, sister,
for praying. I heard your prayer. Jesus did
too. Your shingles is going to leave you now,
setting right there with your hand up like
this,

what you ask for. In the Name of the Lord

Jesus receive it.
Dost thou believe all your heart? We're
strangers to each other, but God knows us
both, doesn't He? You think that He would
make you well of the neuritis, sir? You do?
You were praying, "Lord Jesus, let me be
healed tonight. Have the man to turn to me,
and I will believe." That... Raise your hand

land. Your faith has saved you, sir; don't
