CMU Communication Matrix Getting started

1 Getting started
Protocols and ports used in CMU.
For the terminology and information elements used in the table, the following conventions apply:
Source
The starting point of a communication channel.
Source port
The port number or range of port numbers of the source system starting the
communication.
Destination
The endpoint of a communication channel.
Destination port
The port number or range of port numbers receiving incoming requests from the client.
Transport layer protocol
The transport layer protocol of the IP network.
Application layer protocol
The application layer protocol of the IP network.
Process/Service Name VM Name/Node Container Name
The process/service name, VM name/node, or container name.
IPv4/IPv6
The internet protocol version 4 or internet protocol version 6.
Encryption
The protection mechanism in case encryption is implemented.
Authentication
The protection mechanism in case authentication is implemented.
Authorization
The protection mechanism in case authorization is implemented.
Application Programmable Interface (API) name
The Application Programmable Interface (API) name in case of an API.
