The devil is an adversary of God and an enemy of man because he wants to oppose God's project of spreading His message to the whole world. The devil has been known by various names throughout history and seeks to distance humans from God through temptation. Jesus defeated the devil and evil during His life and ministry. Although evil remains present, Christians can combat it by embracing the spirit of Jesus.

Problem.-
Why is the devil an adversary of God and an enemy of man?
Hypothesis:

The reason that the devil is an adversary of God and an enemy of man is to attack the
the realization of God's project that acts in the person of Jesus. What the devil wants is
to oppose the message of God spreading to the whole world. Thus, the devil will go ...
to be referred to by different names, and this will be present in the world to present itself as
enemy of man and will try to keep him away from the presence of God.

Arguments:

The various names of the devil

As time has passed, the devil has been known by different names such as:
accuser, Beelzebub, beast, dragon, enemy, murderer, wicked, Satan, seducer, tempter, etc.
All these names are mentioned in the Holy Scripture. The figure of the devil has been
shown in a terrifying or grotesque manner in the iconography. The culture of the
antiquity had the conception that there was a god of evil and that this attacks the work of the Being
supreme, he is an adversary of your project. For Jewish culture, there was only one unique God and
true.
The term 'devil' means 'to set aside, divide, accuse, slander' which will later be
translated by the Bible as Satan. This term has been considered as an adversary
of God and man. For example, we can see in the book of 1 Kings 11, 14 - 231; also in
The book of 1 Maccabees 1:362this opponent is the one who commits the bad actions against him
man and separates him from the presence of God. What the devil wants is to keep man away from
God's project and that his message does not come to fruition. One of these attempts we can
See Jesus when he is in the desert and is tempted by Satan.

The evil present in the Scriptures

Jesus in his public life is seen always fighting against evil, he presents himself as
liberator, who restores man's life. Jesus overcomes the forces of the adverse. God acts
through His Son to overcome Satan, since evil no longer has the final word; the

1 Kings 11:14 and 23: The Lord raised up an adversary against Solomon in Hadad,
Edomite, from the royal lineage of Edom. God raised another adversary to him in Rezon,
son of Elyada, who had fled from his lord Hadadezer, king of Zobah:

Salvation has come to the world through Jesus Christ. Luke 10:18; 11:203Jesus has
triumphing over the presence of evil. The fourth gospel will say that 'the action of the prince
of this world" will continue to be present in the world but will not be pressing in the life of man,
since the 'Paraclete' will assist the disciples of Jesus to overcome evil John 16, 8.33. For

What would be the Christian's battle?

For the believing Christian, it is necessary to know this adversary and fight against it. For example, the
Mystics like the Cure of Ars have fought against the adversary. Since evil, the devil as it is...
he wants to call is not a specific person, it is depersonalized, it is an act,
destroying himself. Then man must struggle against the evil that exists in the
world. As Saint Paul says, "sin intervenes in our history as a being that
He wants to change the situation." The same Paul will say in the letter to the Romans 7, 18-20. 4
since sin dwells in me.

This battle is of the spirit against sin that takes place within each person, this
it means the struggle of the spirit against the flesh. Every believer can carry it out
embracing this spirit to overcome the temptations of evil. Within man since his
creation God has infused the divine breath, maintaining a deep relationship with
God in what constitutes all his being as a person created in his image and likeness.

Conclusion

The devil may exist in the world but he cannot have man's Sunday since God has
sent his own Son so that he could overcome the power of darkness. Man has been
saved by Jesus, evil no longer has power to destroy man since Christ has
defeated. The devil is the enemy of man insofar as he is united with God and
accepting his project of salvation. The acting of evil in the ordinary life of man
