The term dignity derives from the Latin word dignitas.

Dignity is
the quality of worthy which means valuable, honorable, deserving. Position
a position of honor and authority.
There were 3 main offices in Israel: Prophet, Priest, King.
which anticipated the function of Christ

Jesus is a priest
The Priests were the representatives of Jehovah before the people and the
in charge of instructing them about Him and His laws. In turn, they acted
as mediators, they represented the people before God through the
presentation of sacrifices, intercessions, and supplications.
Jesus Christ is our High Priest, He is the only one now
intercede for us before the Father. He bears on his shoulders the
the sin of each one of us and our name engraved in his
heart.
No one can claim this honor: God is the one who calls, as in the case
from Aaron. Christ did not confer upon himself the dignity of high priest either.
priest, but he who said to him: "You are a priest forever, according to
the rite of Melchizedek.
Jesus Christ can present himself before the Father and plead for his brothers.
the men.
He is the true, the only, the 'High Priest according to the order of'
Melchizedek" where Jesus entered for us as
precursor, made, according to the order of Melchizedek, high
priest forever” (Hebrews 6:20).
Authentic donkey "mediator between God and men" (1 Tim 2,
5), as explained in the Catechism (1544-1545).
Christ intercedes for us. Who is the one who will condemn? Christ.
he who died; moreover, he who also resurrected, who furthermore is on
the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. Rom 8:34

Jesus is the priest who offers himself as a sacrifice.

He is the Son of God and the Son of Man. The Father, from heaven, looks at
His Son, the Lamb who takes away the sin of the world, the High Priest
who is compassionate towards his brothers. He does not have every day the
need, like the other high priests, to offer
sacrifices, first for their own sins and then for the
of the people, because he did this once and for all,
offering himself. Heb 7:27
Jesus brings us closer to the throne of Grace. Heb 4:16

And although Jesus never proclaimed himself as a priest nor the

evangelists do not give him that title either, his priesthood is the central theme
from the Letter to the Hebrews. In this letter, Jesus is presented as the
Great Priest of the New Covenant.
Moreover, it is especially in the quality of priest that Jesus appears.
sitting at the right hand of the Father: "This is the key point of all that
we have been saying that we have such a high priest, that
he sat down at the right hand of the throne of Majesty in the heavens
(Heb 8:1)

Jesus the prophet

The prophets were responsible for making known to the people the will
from God. It should deliver a clear message of: Justice, Judgment,
Repentance and Salvation.
Jesus is a prophet for he is the very Word of God.

it is fitting that a prophet should die outside of Jerusalem (Luke 13:33).

There are several examples where we see that dignity

prophetic of Jesus. Let's see some:
After the multiplication of the loaves, we hear from the lips of the crowd
the exclamation: "This is undoubtedly the prophet who was to come to..."
world” (Jn 6:14).
And the people also said: "A great prophet has risen among
us... And what was said about him spread throughout the
Judea and throughout the surrounding region" (Lk 7:16-17).
Then we also see that the Samaritan was impressed to see how
Jesus knows his life and will likewise say: 'Lord, I see that you are a
prophet" (Jn 16:19).
The two disciples who walk towards Emmaus will also say
to the pilgrim: Are you the only one who lives in Jerusalem and does not know
What has happened here these days? The thing with Jesus of Nazareth, that
he became a powerful prophet in deeds and words before God and
the whole town (Luke 24:18).

Jesus is King

to take care of the people.

Pontius Pilate (Mt 27:11).
God has sent His Word to the Israelites giving them a message of peace

10, 36).
Christ is King and Lord of the Universe. For having been obedient
until death and having become a servant of all, was
exalted by the Father, who subjected all things to Him.
Jesus is King, although his royalty has nothing to do with the
the concept of king that we have and see in the human realm;
Jesus said well: "My kingdom is not of this world (Jn 18: 36)."
And Saint Peter recognizes, by divine inspiration, that Jesus is the Messiah
even though I had initially not understood what the royalty of Jesus was like:
You are the Christ (the Messiah, the King), the Son of the living God (Mt, 16:13).
Jesus is a king who has come to serve and we recognize his dignity.
