Install of FMCB

This document provides instructions for installing applications and emulators on a PlayStation 2 using uLaunchELF. It explains how to create a disc with uLaunchELF and other programs like NES, SNES, Sega emulators, and more. It also describes three methods for running applications: without a chip, with a chip, or with the Matrix Infinity chip.

As we agreed in the Cramuna thread, I will start posting the things I did and the

compiled/applications available to use on the PS2.

To begin with, it fitsto saythere are 3 basic ways to carry this out:
A- PS2 withoutChip
B- PS2 with Chip
B'- PS2 with Matrix Infinity Chip

Option B worked for me, although I have the Matrix, but I was looking at the way.
to fully use the Matrix. It's a bit more complicated since it requires installation
the programs instead of 'copy and paste' in the traditional way.

Finally, I need a moderator to tell me if I can post links to the tutorials.

on which I based and direct download links of theapplications.

I start...

First, have on hand:

A USB drive the size they deem necessary for what they are going to put in it. If they are so...
Limes like me () the Full Set of NES roms weighs 2.78GBand the SNES one a little
But... Beyond that, if you want to use applications like USB Advance to
load game images without DVDs, that also depends on the size of the game
I say this because it can be made to boot from a USB stick instead of a disk.

-A preferably formatted MC. If it can't be done... at least with a 50% of
free space, since if they decide to copy the applications to the MC for easier access
comfortable (and even a little faster) with many game saves is a problem.
A couple of blank CDs/DVDs, in case they decide to run the applications from them.
reader and not take up space on the Memory or on the Pen.

That said... the first thing you need to do is download a smallprogramcall

uLaunchELF v. 4.38. Create a folder or something to send what you are downloading...
With the downloaded file, you need to create a file called "SYSTEM.CNF" with the
NOTEPAD, TODO IN UPPERCASE.
with this code
Code:
BOOT2 = cdrom0:\ULAUNCH.ELF;1SEE= 1.00 VMODE = PAL/NTSC
Where 'ULAUNCH.ELF' is the name of the elf file that contains uLaunchELF
(I clarify just in case that what you download has another name).

Now..., with this they manage to make the PS2 detect that file and take it as an executable.
(as if it were a game) without that CNF you will not be able to start the program.

To record that, open the recording program and create a new project. In the
they put properties (important) that it is in 'Mode2/XA', they finish the disc and do not
scoop no much more than 8x. Also check that this is using the coding of
Joliet characters 9001 (or something like that).

Before recording the album, create a folder in the root of the compilation with the name of
"BOOT" (uppercase) and paste a renamed copy of uLaunchELF inside
"BOOT.ELF". With this, what we are doing is... later when they raise the
uLaunchELF from the CD can copy this folder with the file inside to the MC.
and thus be able to run the uLaunchELF from the memory reducing the dependency towards it
use of the CD.

To avoid wasting the CD, they can only start putting the ELFs of the others.
applications such as:

-MC Formatter 1.0b

-MC Manager v0.1 (to make backups of the data, although it can be done by hand)
tmb)
PGEN v1.5.1 (Sega Genesis Emulator)
-PSMS v1.2 (Emu Sega Master System)
SMS v2.9 rev. 2 (Another media player, in case one doesn't work the other is there)
PS2Reality Pro (Media Player)
myPS2 v1.2 (Media Center)
-PS2MP3SE v1.3 (MP3 Player)
-MP3Station v0.1 (MP3 ripper and downloader)
SNES Station v0.2.4
FCEUltra for PS2 (Emu NES)
-imbNES v1.3.2 (Another one, in case the FCE doesn't work well with some rom)
InfoNES v0.93 Rev. 1
-InfoNES-HD v1b (Another one for NES, theoretically with a patch for USB hard drives)
PVCS v1.3 (Emu Atari 2600)
InfoGB-HD v1-1 (Emu Game Boy, same -HD)
-PS2PCE v0.5 (Emu PC Engine/Turbografx)
NeoCD v0.6c (Emu NeoGeo CD)
NeoPOP v0.1 (NeoGeo Pocket Emulator)
-USB Advance v1 (To load game images from a USB device, it does

Then there are the cheaters like CodeBreaker, AR Max Evo, GameShark, Xploder.

Once they sent all the Elves they wanted, they record the album with the options before.
mentioned.

If everything went well when they insert the CD a window will appear withbackgroundgray and
black letters.
That is the LaunchELF, there you have it.
mc0:/ (slot 1 of the memory)
mc1:/ (slot 2)
hdd0:/ (internal disk of the 'old' PS2, does nothing on the slim)
mass:/ (USB ports, if there is more than one add a mass1:/)
cdfs:/ (reader)
host:/ (to connect the PS2 to a PC, using the PS2Client)
MISC:/ (LaunchElf utilities)

The first thing you need to do is copy the BOOT folder created on the CD and copy it.
Just like this on the MC, with that they ensure that they have a bootable MC. According to what I was...
by reading, several elves can be chosen at the time of booting. Since I am not
I'm sure with this method, you can ensure that by pressing R1 when starting the PS2, it will ...
launch uLaunchELF from the MC without the need for a CD in the drive.

With that done, the only thing left for them is to run the applications from the CD and
subsequently send them to a pendrive along with the roms/mp3/divx/etc.

For Option A, you must use SwapMagic, creating a CD with the ELF of
SwapMagic and from 1 to 4 ELFs with the name SMB00xT0.ELF (where x is the number of
file that the SM detects in the menu; from 1 to 4).

For Option B', there is an application called INFINITY MANAGER, only for
those who have a Matrix chip. Which is installed on the memory card, and basically
Carry out the installations that need to be done manually with the LaunchELF. What happens is
that to install something isshouldcreate a file named INSTALL.CNF, and it works only
to send to an MC, not to a Pendrive.

If you want, I can send how it is later (besides that I haven't tried that).

Anything, just ask because I'm sure I left something unsaid.

MANY of these applications can be found in compilations like the Sagat

Pack, All in One v. 3.1 and PS2APPS CD.
Edit2: Later I'll post configuration tips for LaunchELF and FCEultra.
