The Tajumulco spoke to me.

Author: Humberto Rodas.

The shadow of the Tajumulco volcano fell over the school. That day everything was joy.
that day, the girls and boys were running, jumping, and kicking the soccer ball in the
corridor. They had muddy feet because the community school only has
a dirt runner and with the rain it becomes mud.

"Gooooollllll!" they shouted; "No, teacher, it's not a goal because he pushed me," they complained.
At that moment, the teacher saw that Geovany was lying under a tree, without

The Tajumulco teacher, the Tajumulco teacher, Geovany replied.

If Geovany the Tajumulco is in front of us, but you are burning with
fever, you have a fever Geovany.

-Tajumulco spoke to me, says it will breathe fire, it said of

-Professor, what happened to my little boy? he asked.

-Doña Jacinta, Geovany had a high fever, a fever so strong that even
he said things that were not very true. But look, here is Mr. Jaime, he works in
fighting against Malaria and wants to know what other symptoms Geovany has had.

Hey teacher, Mrs. Jacinta complained, it's just that Geovany has had fever, pain in
head, chills and body pain, one day yes and one day no, and I don't know why.

Exactly, those are the symptoms of Malaria or Paludism, indeed fever or warmth,
chills, headache, and bone pain, affirmed Mr. Jaime.

Excuse me, Don Jaime, can you explain to us what a symptom is? asked the professor.

With pleasure, teacher, I respond, Mr. Jaime, a symptom is the way in which our

At that moment, Mr. Jaime, the malaria control worker, appeared.

don Jaime was so tired of walking around looking for people with symptoms of
malaria, which sat right in front of the water hole where Geovany was chatting
with the Tajumulco Volcano. Geovany saw it and soon told him what was happening.

Don't be embarrassed, kid, said Don Jaime, I'll take care of that, but tomorrow you have to
return to school.

Don Jaime took a little water from the river, loaded his backpack, and went to school.

Dear boys, dear girls, I need us to talk a little bit about the
symptoms of malaria.
