GAMES FOR RAINY DAYS

When thinking about scouting activities, it quickly comes to mind

large spaces, relay games, etc. But what to do
on those cold and/or rainy days, when we have to stay cooped up
in a small room? Thinking about that, we selected some games
to be applied in enclosed spaces. See below:

Memory Game

Objective: Develop memory and observation skills.

Material necessary 64 cans empty, tpo sauce of tomato

32 pairs of assorted things (keys, whistles, etc.)

Preparation: Away from the boys, arrange the cans in a square, using 8 cans.
on each side. Below each one of them, place an object randomly.

Development: Separate the youths into two teams. Play 'odd-or-even' to see which
the team begins. Then, a member of that team will indicate two cans, which must be
turns, in a way that everyone can see its content. If the objects shown form
a pair, the cans are retraced, and the young will try again. If not, the cans are turned.
again, with the objects under it, and he will give the turn to someone from the opposing team. The
the game will continue until there are no more turned cans.

Variation: It can be established that, to form a pair, the young person must announce
previously his intention. If he thinks he knows where two identical objects are,
will announce 'Voutentar'. If successful, your team will earn a point. If not, it
it will lose a point. If he forms a pair without having announced it before, his discovery remains
without effect.

Ideograms

Objective: To develop creativity and manual skills.

Necessary material: Paper

1 pen or pencil per Patrol or Matlha

Development: A member of the Patrol or Matlha goes to the Chief, who whispers to him.
something in the ear. Back with his team, the young man must draw what his Boss told him
said. The first team to guess what the drawing represents wins the game. It is not
allow the young person to give any type of clue, through voice, gestures or writing.

Boat race
Objective: Physical development and motor coordination.

Necessary material: None

Development: This game requires some space. The Patrols / Matlhas sit down,
in line, facing one of the walls of the room, with the Monitor / Cousin leaning against it
your feet on the wall. Each member will place their legs around the waist of the
friend in front. The Monitor / Cousin turns to the Patrol / Matlha, and puts
her legs over the legs of the first element. At a signal from the chief, the teams
they should move toward the opposite wall, using only their hands, as if
it was a huge caterpillar. The team that reaches the other side first wins.

Game of the Reefs

Objective: Develop the ability to observe

Necessary material: Eye covers (can be scarves)

Development: Divide the young people into two teams. One of them should be blindfolded.
eyes, and position themselves on one side of the room. The other will spread out randomly across the
room. The members of this will crouch down and make a sound like water hitting the
rocks, not too high. The other young people should cross the room, trying not to
hit those who are on the ground. Every time he hits a 'reef', both of them leave the
game. In the end, it is counted how many young people managed to pass without hitting, and they switch.
side. The game is repeated, and then the results obtained by both are compared.
Teams. The one that manages to pass the largest number of young people to the other will win.
side of the room.

Detective

Objective: Develop the capacity for observation

Necessary material: None

Development: The young people sit in a circle. A young person is chosen.

like 'Detective', and moves away a little. Another young person is then chosen as
"Assassin," and the first young man takes his place again in the circle. The "Assassin"
should discreetly make a sign (a wink, quickly sticking out the tongue, etc.)
to the other young people, one at a time, without the 'Detective' seeing him. Upon noticing the signal, the
young 'assassinated' will lie down. The 'detective' will have 3 chances to find out who is the
"assassin", will have to give way to another.

For Buzz, the number 7 (seven) is marked. The players count out loud, being
forbidden to say any number that has a seven (like seventeen) or is a
multiple of seven (like twenty e um).
The first player starts by saying 'one'. The second says 'two'. The third (or the
first again if there are only two playing) continue the counting: 'three'. And
this goes on until six, when instead of saying 'seven', he will say 'Buzz'. And each
whenever a number after this "eight" contains a seven, the player must say "Buzz"
instead of the number. Just like the number called after six is 'Buzz', after
"Thirteen" is also "Buzz" (14 is a multiple of 7), and the players should say "Buzz".
instead of 21,27,28,35,37,42,47,49 and so on. A good way to play this
non-competitive version of Buzz is 'Let's see if we can reach the number'
100 without anyone making a mistake." Instead of competing, the players will be united around
for the same purpose... And they will remain united in laughter when someone makes a mistake
and say 'seven' or 'twenty-one' and so on. It is inevitable that someone will make a mistake. And it is
considered a mistake when someone says "Buzz" for the wrong number - a number
what no contain seven you no be multiple of seven
The game of 'Fizz' is very similar. In fact, the only difference is that instead of saying
"Buzz" for the number that is seven or a multiple of it, the players will say
"Fizz" for the number that is five or a multiple of five.
One, two, three, four, 'Fizz', six, seven, eight, nine, 'Fizz', and so on. The
players will say 'Fizz' instead of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, and all the numbers of
house of 50, just like 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95 and 100. Like all numbers
that contains five, except for the sequence from 51 to 59, are all numbers that contain
five, "Fizz" is a little easier to play without making mistakes than "Buzz".

Every time the group makes a mistake, it will divide into two. This occurs successively until
what it they have only pairs you trios playing.
Now, suggest that the groups come together and try to reach the end without making any mistakes.

Tips:
Game processing: How did everyone feel? What is the importance of everyone
Will we collaborate? And other comments that arise.

chosen by the friend's duo. First of all, the person would come and speak in a loud voice the
name of the friend and he played the game that the friend chose, and the group should
identify what the game was. Note: make the group more sociable, and great for
to integrate colleagues, socialize in the first days of class.

Activity: class separated into pairs spread across the court, to determine
who will be letter 'A' and who will be letter 'B'. Whoever is letter 'A' will be the driver and 'B'

Now gather two larger groups and carry out the same activity, but the
the difficulty will be greater.

Activity: now each one picks up their paper again (from the previous game)
and each will get a pencil or pen. A song will be played and they should

One variation of this game is to turn it into a 'mini-hunt', such as,
make the monitors fugitives in space (this being greater in

Material: balloons and thread.

VIGILANT EYE (also called Mysterious Object)

Game of the hall, where the children will leave it, while a monitor
will hide inside an object, like a stack (leaving it showing
just a piece of it). The children enter, already knowing that it is not
allowed to touch nothing and that upon finding the object, they must disguise and
sit down no middle (where will be o monitor).
The goal is to not be the last to find the object.
A variation for this game is: to put many objects inside a hall (of
preference for very different utilities - to make it difficult) underneath a
then (the monitors will know exactly what is there) the children enter,
positioning themselves around the cloth, which is lifted by a few
seconds, so that they observe the objects that are, right after,
covered. From there, they must find a monitor and tell him (checking) what
watch out for objects. The monitor can try to distract and confuse them;
Another variation is: the children enter the room and observe everyone.
