Psalm 23:1-6

PROBLEM: let us remember that David was a shepherd when he was a young boy. 1 Samuel 16:
11b

INTRODUCTION: In this passage, David figuratively refers to sheep (animals), it is


just as we are illustrated in different passages of the Bible, but in this passage it speaks of
literally from believing people, those who can say with all their heart 'Jehovah is my
pastor” make it our own in our lives.

I. WE WILL NOT NEED ANYTHING. V. 1-2


A. We will have physical provision. Matthew 6:25
Therefore I say to you: Do not be anxious about your life, what you shall eat.
to eat or what you shall drink; nor for your body, what you shall put on
Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?

II. WE ARE STRENGTHENED IN HIS PERFECT LOVE. V.3-4
It will bring comfort to our soul.

of me? Wait on God; for I will yet praise Him, Salvation
my own and my God." Psalm 42:11
He will guide us on paths of justice.
All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth,

C. He/She will give us full confidence.

Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose confidence is
Jehovah. For he shall be like the tree planted by the waters,
that together with the current will take root, and will not see when
the heat comes, but its leaf will be green; and in the year of

III. WE ARE PROTECTED IN HIS MERCY. V. 5-6
A. It protects us from our enemies.
The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.

B. The good is in our favor.
For whoever finds me finds life,
And she will obtain favor from the Lord." Proverbs 8:35
C. Our eternal dwelling with God is assured.
Then we who are alive, we who remain,
we will be caught up together with them in the clouds to
to receive the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with Him
Lord.” 1 Thessalonians 4:17

CONCLUSION. It is a great blessing to hear these great promises for the Children of God,
And the most wonderful thing is that our shepherd is Jesus Christ Himself, and we can see Him clearly.
In John 10:11 "Christ is the good shepherd and He Himself gave His life on the cross of Calvary for His
"sheep" Are you already part of His flock? Are you enjoying His precious and great
promises?
