STUDENT VISA CHECKLIST
ACADEMIC YEAR 2025/26
Important information:
Students enrolling to a university course (Laurea, Laurea Magistrale or corsi accademici AFAM) must apply for a
visa by November 30th 2025, even if they are attending classes online.
1 □ Application form duly completed and signed.
2 □ One passport size color photo, white background, maximum 6 months old ( see specifications)
A valid passport (and a copy) satisfying the following criteria:
o its validity must be at least three months longer then the visa requested;
3 □ o it must contain at least two blank pages;
o it must have been issued within the previous 10 years;
o it must hold a valid UAE visa.
4 □ Copy of a valid UAE Residence Visa, issued by any “Northern Emirates” authority.
5 □ Previous Schengen, USA, or UK visa copy, if any;
Provisional admission letter confirming the pre-enrollment released by the UNIVERSITALY portal, or
6 □
enrolment letter if pre-enrolment is not required;
7 □ Declaration of Value or Consular Legalization (see pt. 10), as requested in the pre-enrollment form.
8 □ Official, positive result in any preliminary admission test required for enrollment (e.g. IMAT);
Proof of veracity and authenticity of the relevant diploma.
9 □
Any of the following: Statement of Verification released by CIMEA or Diploma Supplement or other.
Original and copy of the relevant diploma.
Translated in to Italian by a recognized legal translator (for a list of translators click here).
If issued in the UAE, duly legalized by Ministry of Education (KHDA), MOFA.
10 □ Additionally, if the Diploma or the University degree was issued abroad, or following a non EAU
curriculum, the same must be duly legalized by the competent Italian Embassy/Consulate of the Country
where the document was issued, or duly Apostilled. (E.g.: A Diploma issued by an international school in
Dubai following the Indian CV, must be legalized by the competent Italian Embassy/Consulate in India).
11 □ Proof of adequate knowledge of the language in which the course will be taught (e.g. IELTS certificate).
If enrolling in any Laurea Magistrale, Second level Master, PhD, etc, full transcript of records.

Translation in to Italian by a recognized legal translator (for a list of translators click here).
Proof of sufficient means of subsistence. A minimum of € 534.41 for each month of the academic year
(€ 6.947,33 per year) is required.
In order to comply, the applicant must provide the following:
o Last 3 months bank statements of a personal or parents' account in the UAE;
o If not financially independent, NOC from parents stating their commitment to financially
support the student (along with a copy of passport and UAE visa of the sponsoring parent).
13 □ o If worker, salary certificate and NOC issued by local employer. Copy of signatory ID or passport
is required;
In addition to the bank statements, the applicant can provide the following documents:
o Last 3 months statements of a personal or parents' international credit card;
o Evidence of any other personal financial resources in the UAE, if any;
Note: Online bank statements or copies will be accepted only with original bank stamp.
Only parents’ financial support will be deemed valid.
14 □ Proof of the availability of the financial means needed for repatriation (in addition to point 10).

An international insurance policy covering the entire stay with full and unlimited coverage for
hospitalization during the entire stay in Italy. Detailed table of benefit must be provided. Only individual
15 □ policies will be considered, no family, group or company policies are accepted.
If the University is providing a Medical Insurance, applicant must then provide a medical insurance limited
to the first month.
Proof of a suitable accommodation in Italy (Campus accommodation, rental agreement or a confirmed
16 □ hotel booking of at least 30 days). In case of an accommodation in a private house, the owner must
provide the Declaration of Hospitality Form (click here) duly signed in front of a notary public.
17 □ Copy of a confirmed flight reservation.
If the student is a minor, parents must appoint a custodian in Italy for the whole time student will be
underage.
In order to do so, parents must provide the following documents:
A declaration released in front of a notary public in the UAE, mentioning full details of the person
to be appointed as custodian. The person must be legally resident in Italy. The declaration must

be legalized by MOFA and then translated in Italian by a Legal Translator (for a list of translators
click here).
A declaration of the custodian in Italy in which he clearly agrees to be appointed. The signature
of the custodian must be legalized by an Authority in Italy (i.e.: Comune or Prefettura). A copy of
an ID of the custodian must also be provided.
I understand that an application without a complete set of documents may result in the refusal of my visa application.
The submission of a complete file does not guarantee the issuance of a visa. The passport will not be returned until the
final decision on the visa is adopted.
The Consulate General reserves the right to ask for a Personal Interview or any additional documents.
I also declare that I have read the information on the protection of personal data concerning the issue of visas pursuant
to the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 available on the website http://vistoperitalia.esteri.it
I also understand that if the visa is granted, within eight working days from the arrival in Italy, students must apply
for the Permit of Stay ("Permesso di soggiorno") to the relevant Police Headquarter ("Questura"). The form must be
filed through authorized Post Offices (Sportello Amico), using the relevant kit available there. Following to that, the
student will receive an invitation letter with details of the appointment scheduled by the Police Headquarters. The day
of the appointment 2 pictures will be required.
