ADMISSION PROCEDURE
1. The list is provisional and is subject to:
I) The satisfaction of the eligibility criteria as notified earlier.
II) Correction in the merit position due to error, if any.
2. No separate intimation will be sent to individual candidates.
3. Provisionally selected candidates will be required to bring their M.A. Mark Sheet/Grade
Card and degree certificate (if available) at the time of admission.
Please note that even if selected, candidates will be admitted only if they have at least a provisional
mark sheet of their Masters at the time of admission and fulfill the eligibility requirement of 50
percent marks. No appeal for extension of date of submission of mark sheet will be considered.
4. Fees
Course Fee: Rs. 20,000/- (non-refundable; to be paid at the time of admission)
The fees may either be paid in full at the time of admission or in two
installments, with the first installment of Rs. 10,000 due at the time of admission
and the second installment of 10, 000 due by 1 December 2024.
Library Deposit: Rs. 2,500 (refundable)
Fees may be paid via Demand Draft / Cheque (of Rs. 20,000/- in the case of candidates paying
one time and of Rs. 10,000/- in the case of candidates paying in installments) payable in favour
of ‘Centre for Studies in Social Sciences, Calcutta’. Please note that the name of the city
(Calcutta) is a part of the name of the Centre and MUST be included. All candidates should
write their name in BLOCK along with contact number at the back of the D.D. or Cheque.
Full fee waivers will be provided for two candidates. The waivers will be need-based.
Candidates desiring to avail of such waiver should apply by filling out the Centre’s fee waiver
form (available on request). Completed fee waiver forms should be emailed by 18th July 2024 to

rtp.cssscal@gmail.com CSSSC’s decision about the candidates selected for fee waiver will be
communicated before the date of admission.
5. Admission of Students (1st List)
Date: Thursday 25th & Friday 26th July 2024
Time: 11 am to 4:30 pm
Venue: CSSSC, Patuli campus.
Note: Selected students not taking admission by 26th July 2024 will not be considered for
admission later.
6. Admission of Students (Wait list, depending on seat availability)
Date: Tuesday 30th July 2024
Reporting time: 11 am. Candidates will be called in order of merit depending on seat
availability
Venue: CSSSC, Patuli campus.
7. Date of Orientation
Date: Friday, 2nd August 2024. Time: 11:30 a.m.
8. Class Commencement
Date: Tuesday, 6th August 2024.
9. Candidates not satisfying the criteria of eligibility will not be considered for admission,
even if they had appeared at the Interview or have been selected by mistake.
10. There is no provision for hostel accommodation.
11. If a candidate takes admission and then decides to leave, then the refundable money (Library
deposit) can be claimed by the student only after two months.
