various development projects.

Urban Health Centre: Inaugurated two Urban Health Centres in the Gota Ward, built at a cost of
approximately Rs.3.84 crores, and Chandoliya Ward, built at a cost of approximately Rs.3.76 crores, in

• It offers various healthcare services under Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY),
Ayushman Bharat (AB), Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts (ABHA) card facilities, maternal and
child healthcare, pediatrics, immunization, and other services.
Plantation Drive: He led a plantation drive along with the Chief Minister (CM) of Gujarat Bhupendra
Patel under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative, encouraging citizens to plant trees in honor of their
mothers.
• The drive was organized by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) at Ayushman Van in
Ghatolia ward of Ahmedabad.
Jan Rakshak Projects:
Dial-112 ERSS: He launched the Dial-112 Janrakshak Emergency Response Support System (ERSS), a
single toll-free emergency response number, integrating police, fire, ambulance, women and child helplines,
and disaster response into a single streamlined platform.
• It replaces multiple toll-free numbers with an aim to simplify assistance during critical situations.
• The Gujarat Government will allocate Rs. 92 crore per year to operate the Dial-112 Emergency
Response Support System.
Janrakshak Vehicles: He flagged off a fleet of 500 specially equipped Janrakshak vehicles, deployed across
Gujarat to quickly respond to emergency calls. The vehicles are equipped with Global Positioning
System(GPS) trackers, wireless systems, first-aid kits, and digital connectivity, enabling real-time
monitoring and rapid response.

In August 2025, PRYMA Aerospace Private Limited received Type Certification from the Directorate
General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), under the Ministry of Civil Aviation(MoCA), for its Arjuna drone, enabling
its deployment in agriculture.

About Adi Vaani:


Overview: It is an AI-powered translation tool envisioned as the groundwork for developing a future large
language model focused on tribal languages.

• The project integrates advanced AI technologies with community-led initiatives to safeguard,


promote, and rejuvenate tribal languages and cultures across India.
Collaboration: Developed by a national consortium of premier institutions led by the Indian Institute of
Technology, Delhi (IIT-D), along with Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani (BITS
Pilani), International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIIT-H), and International Institute
of Information Technology, Naya Raipur (IIIT-NR), in collaboration with Tribal Research Institutes (TRIs)
in Jharkhand, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh (MP), Chhattisgarh, and Meghalaya.
Objectives: The project aims to:
• Enable real-time translation (text and speech) between Hindi/English and tribal languages.
• Provide interactive language learning for students and early learners.
• Digitally preserve folklore, oral traditions, and cultural heritage.
• Support digital literacy, healthcare communication, and civic inclusion in tribal communities.
• Awareness on government schemes and important speeches.
Languages: In its Beta launch, Adi Vaani will support – Santali (Odisha), Bhili (MP), Mundari
(Jharkhand), Gondi (Chhattisgarh).
• Additional languages including Kui and Garo are under development for the next phase.

In August 2025, WaveX, the startup program initiated by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB)
in partnership with the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies (IICT-Mumbai), Maharashtra has
announced the launch of a dedicated Media Tech Startup Incubator.
• This newly launched initiative is designed to support and nurture high-potential ventures in the
AVGC-XR sector (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality).

Announcement of Key MoUs: During the event, Norihiko Ishiguro, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
(CEO) of Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) announced key Business-to-Business (B2B)
Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) signed between Indian and Japanese companies across various
sectors such as: steel, Artificial Intelligence (AI), space, education and skills, clean energy and human
resource exchanges.
15th India-Japan Annual Summit:
PM Narendra Modi and Japanese PM Shigeru Ishiba attended the 15th India-Japan Annual Summit held at
Kantei (Japan), the official resident of Japanese PM.
• Both India and Japan have expanded their Special Strategic and Global Partnership with the
signing of 13 MoUs and other agreements covering human resource exchange, environment,
digital technologies, space and cultural cooperation.
• PM Narendra Modi has invited Japan’s PM Ishiba, to attend the AI Impact Summit which is
scheduled to be hosted by India from February 19-20, 2026.
13 MoUs/Bilateral Documents:
India-Japan Joint Vision for the Next Decade: Leaders of both countries unveiled a comprehensive 10-
year roadmap for economic and functional cooperation in 8 key areas of bilateral cooperation: economic
partnership, economic security, mobility, ecological sustainability, technology and innovation, health,
people-to-people and state-prefecture engagements.
Joint Declaration on Security Cooperation: It is a comprehensive framework, designed to strengthen
defense and security cooperation between the two countries to respond to contemporary security
challenges in line with Special Strategic and Global Partnership.
Action Plan for India: Both countries signed an action plan aims to promote two-way exchange of 500,000
people between India and Japan, particularly 50,000 skilled and semi-skilled personnel from India to Japan
in the next 5 years.
Joint Crediting Mechanism: Both countries signed a MoU on cooperation on joint crediting mechanism, an
instrument to facilitate the diffusion of decarbonizing technologies, products, systems, and infrastructure.
• This will contribute to India’s Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emission reduction goals; promote Japanese
investment in India and India’s sustainable development.
India-Japan Digital Partnership 2.0: This document aims to boost bilateral collaboration in digital public
infrastructure, development of digital talent and joint Research & Development (R&D) in advanced
emerging technologies such as: Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and semiconductors.
Mineral Resources: The MoU in this field aims to accelerate cooperation in supply chain resilience for
critical minerals including through the development of processing technologies, joint investments for
exploration and mining.
Exchange of Diplomats/Academics: Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service, India has signed a MoU
with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, to promote exchanges between diplomats, academics, officials,
experts, and researchers to advance mutual understanding in the field of foreign policy.
Environment: This MoU aims to foster collaboration in areas related to environmental preservation such
as: pollution control, climate change, waste management, sustainable use of biodiversity and environmental
technologies.
Waste Water Management: This MoU aims to promote cooperation in effective reuse of wastewater and
decentralized wastewater management.
Collaboration between ISRO & JAXA: Indian space agency, Indian Space and Research Organisation (ISRO)
and Japanese space agency, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) signed an implementing
arrangement concerning the joint Lunar Polar Exploration (LUPEX) mission to the south pole of the Moon
called Chandrayaan-5.

solutions.
India-Japan SMEs Forum: This new forum aims to bolster collaboration between Indian and Japanese

Sustainable Fuel Initiative: It is designed to promote energy security, farmer livelihoods, and advance R&D
in technologies related sustainable fuels like: biogas and biofuels.
High-Level Exchanges: Both countries have agreed to high-level exchanges between states and prefectures,

participating in various shooting disciplines at senior and junior levels.

Background:
Origin : The idea of NNW was first introduced by the American Dietetic Association (now the Academy of
Nutrition and Dietetics) in 1975, with the goal of spreading awareness on the importance of nutrition and
promoting dietetics as a profession.
Adoption in India : India began observing National Nutrition Week in 1982 to address the challenges of
widespread malnutrition and deficiencies in essential micronutrients.
• The observance was initiated in 1982 by the Food and Nutrition Board(FNB), Ministry of Women
& Child Development(MoWCD).

FNB: The FNB was established in 1964 and was later dissolved in 2018, with its functions integrated into
other government nutrition programmes.
Leadership: This initiative is spearheaded by the MoWCD.
Significance of NNW 2025:

Development Goal (SDG) 2 – Zero Hunger.
Healthy Living: It promotes healthy lifestyle choices to help prevent and manage Non-Communicable
Diseases (NCDs).
Government Campaigns: The government carries out nationwide nutrition campaigns through various
ministries, aligning them with key schemes such as POSHAN Abhiyaan (Prime Minister’s Overarching
Scheme for Holistic Nutrition), the Mid-Day Meal (MDM) Programme, and Integrated Child Development
Services (ICDS).
About POSHAN Abhiyaan:
POSHAN Abhiyaan (2018): Launched by the Prime Minister(PM) Narendra Modi on 8th
March 2018 in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, this flagship programme of the Government of India(GoI) focuses on
improving the nutritional status of children, adolescent girls, pregnant women, and lactating mothers.
POSHAN 2.0: An integrated version of the scheme, POSHAN 2.0 was approved for the period of 2021-22 to
2025-26.
• It consolidates and strengthens nutrition-related interventions to ensure wider coverage and
better outcomes.
