Trends in Cloud ComputingIntroduction Cloud computing is always changing, and AWS is always
innovating. AWS is regularly introducing new services and features and making improvements, such as
lower costs, more granular billing options, higher quotas, new Regions, and faster performance. Because
of these changes, it is vital to stay up to date on what is happening. This document provides an overview
of some of the latest trends in cloud computing at AWS, along with resources that you can use to stay
informed. Latest advancements Generative AI is changing the way that organizations do work. AWS has
infrastructure, tools, and applications to help customers use generative AI in their business. Here are
some of the generative AI services that AWS has announced:Amazon Bedrock is a fully managed
service that offers a choice of high-performing foundation models (FMs) along with a broad set of
capabilities that you need to build generative AI applications. Amazon Bedrock simplifies development
with security, privacy, and responsible AI. Amazon Q is a generative AI-powered assistant for work that
is designed to be secure and private by default. Amazon Q is integrated into many AWS products. Two of
the primary Amazon Q products are the following: oAmazon Q Business is a generative AI-powered
assistant that can answer questions, provide summaries, generate content, and securely complete tasks.
You can tailor Amazon Q Business to do any of those tasks based on data and information in your
enterprise systems. oAmazon Q Developer is a coding assistant that can accelerate development time
for developers of all skills levels and for many tasks across the software development lifecycle. Amazon Q
Developer can chat about code, provide in-line code completions, generate new code, and scan your
code for security vulnerabilities. It can also make code upgrades and improvements, such as language
updates, debugging, and optimizations. With Amazon Q Developer, you can describe the application you
want to create in natural language, and Amazon Q Developer will generate and suggest code for the
application. For more information about AWS generative AI offerings, see the following resources:

How to complete lab exercises
Starting a Lab
When you are ready to start a lab exercise, click the Start Lab button.
Click the Start Lab button
This creates a temporary AWS console account, starts a lab timer and starts configuring any services that
are required for the lab exercise. You will see a dialogue window showing lab creation progress.
Start lab status modal window
Wait until you see the message Lab status: ready then close the dialogue window.
The lab timer starts counting down.
Lab timer
When the counter reaches zero, all the services you have configured will be terminated and your
temporary account is deactivated. If you need more time, click the Start Lab button again to reset the
timer. You can reset the timer as many times as you like.
Opening a Console
Click the AWS button.
AWS button
A new tab opens in the AWS Console. You are logged in with the temporary account.
AWS Management Console
Viewing Lab Details
From the lab page, click Details and Show.
Details, Show button
A dialogue opens showing details of how long you have remaining in the lab, service details such as IP
addresses and names that may be required by the exercise, and credentials for SSH or CLI access to your
temporary account.
Credentials modal window
Lab Limits
Some services that are not required for the lab exercises may be disabled. You will receive a permission
error in the console if you attempt to use a disabled service.
There is a credit limit for each lab exercise. If you reach the credit limit then your temporary account is
disabled, your services are terminated and you will not be able to start the lab again. This does not affect
the other lab exercises. The credit limit is at least double the amount required to complete the lab
exercises.
Stopping a Lab
When you have completed a lab, click the End Lab button.
End Lab button
Any services you have configured will be terminated.
End Lab status window
It may take five minutes for the lab to be terminated. It will not be possible to re-start the lab until the
termination is complete.
You can repeat lab exercises as many times as you like until you hit the credit limit. It is not possible to
view your credit balance.
Troubleshooting
Some students experience problems with initializing labs and downloading PEM and PPK files when
using Microsoft Internet Explorer or Edge. If you experience this problem, the solution is to use Firefox or
Chrome browsers.
If you receive 'The credentials in your login link were invalid. Please contact your administrator." Click the
here in the error to logout and restart the lab.
