Hi Mum,
French camp is great. Every morning, we get up at 7.30 and then we have
a traditional French breakfast. Lessons start at 9.15. Everything is in French –
we don’t speak any English! There aren’t any textbooks, but my notebook is
full of new vocabulary. Luckily, I’ve got two notebooks with me! At the camp,
there’s a clubhouse with magazines in French. I can read some of them.
In the afternoons, we usually play football. There are students from all over
Europe. Sometimes they try to speak English with me. That’s because they
learn it at school, but I always reply to them in French. On Tuesday and
Thursday nights, there’s a film night. We sit outside and watch a French film on
a wall. In the evenings, Simon (the camp instructor) sometimes plays
an instrument and we sing songs in French. Oh and Mum, the camp chef is
amazing. We have a big dinner every evening. I want to buy some French
cookbooks when I get home!
