 TO PROPOSE AN ACCOMMODATING SPACE OF A CHURCH FOR THE


CONGREGATION AND COMMUNITY.
- To design a church that can handle the possible number of believers including the
equipment and furniture to be use and spatial criteria.
 Circulation- the passages were designed and corresponds to the possible
number of attendees for certain church services including the placement of
furniture and equipment to be use and the workflow and movements of the
people from person-to-person and place-to-place.
Additional entrances- for easy walking/travel distance from place-to-place.
Seating options- for long walking distances, a seating area at regular intervals
for resting; and space friendly such as foldable seats at places where
permanent seating is not possible.

 Compliance- the building codes, laws, and regulations such as PD 1096 and RA
9514 shall be applied and complied.
Natural Light and ventilation- provides a good mental state to the end user and
save energy.
Fire exits- larger openings and at least 2 exits allow for faster evacuation; and
some alternative exits aside from regular exits.
- To design a church with friendly features for each part of the community such as for
children, adults, elders, and people with disabilities. (accessibility law)
 Accessibility- the BP 344 shall be applied and complied for ease of use for
PWDs, children, adults, and elders such as ramp and railings.
Ramp- sloped pathway placed at every entrance and exits to provide
access between different vertical levels for wheelchair users.
Braille signage- using tactile ADA signs enable the visually impaired to
read and navigate public spaces.
 Human Scale- designing the spaces and rooms meeting its standard size and
proportion of space in relation to human dimension.

Ergonomic furniture- the furniture is based from the anthropometric data


sets to obtain optimum size and reasonable for an average use.
Aisle/pathway- standardize path walk and distances from each person
provides safety, and mobility.

- To design a church vicinity with a garden, commercial stalls, and seating areas
which the community might enjoy.
 Extensibility- the worship area can be extended outside the structure’s wall.
Alfresco- an area just outside the wall, having a pergola roof and pews to
accommodate larger number of attendees.
Shrines/Statue- a sacred place to worship hallowed by association with a
sacred person or object for special devotion, can be placed separately
from the church.

 Scenery- the structure is designed with a perfect vicinity to enjoy religious


statues, and greeneries.
Fountains- symbolizes purification, life, truth, and change.
Landscape- enhance the aesthetic appeal of a building; manipulate and
shape the locations to connect with the natural world and built
environment.
- To design a church with a place for praise, worship, counseling, activities, blessing
ceremonials, religious education area, clinic, priest residences, multi-purpose hall
and other supporting areas.
 Proximity- the closeness of areas inside and outside the church were
considered to deal with the common relation of workflow.
Openness/Door-Free- the related spaces are close together with an easy
of access.
Disunion- separating unrelated ones or places that needs some peace.

 Orientation- the spaces were planned and placed considering the sun path and
prevailing wind direction.
Shorter sides of a building- towards the eastern and western directions
to take advantage of the sun’s orientation.
30 or 45 degree- angle the building to the direction of wind for enhanced
ventilation.

repair cracks that may appear in the concrete overtime.
Cross-Laminated wood- a fire resistant wood that facilitates carbon
capture while in use; has superior acoustic, seismic, and thermal
insulation.

 Efficiency- efficient use of energy and natural resources; and reduces the
environmental impact.
Solar Glass- integrate power generating capability and absorbs
ultraviolet wavelengths from the existing renewable solar energy and
converts it into electricity. Can be used as facades, skylights of roofs,
windows and more.
Pollution absorbing bricks- filter pollution from the exterior atmosphere
and allow clean air inside the buildings.
- To design a church with solace display and design elements that pertains to the
stories, lessons, and guidance from the sacred book.

 Ambience- the interior design and elements of the structure provides an


inspiring reverence; create the spaces to foster spiritual connection; and
seamlessly blended innovation, functionality, and spirituality.
Neutral colors- offers a simple space that allows for observation and
relaxation; colors such as pale yellows, cream, light greys, and beige all
work well for a subtle wall color. Also, using white on walls keeps it
simpler and modernized.
High ceilings- creates an open feel to aid the inspiration felt when
entering the building at the same time to meet the need-climate for a
high number of people within; and an open space for sound waves to
roam inside.

 Goal- to create a spiritual connection between God and the worshipper through
praying.
Stained glass windows- the lights pass through highlights the symbol of
the divine light of God and represents as the symbol of Christ as hope,
truth, love, and life.
Sacred displays/area- place of communication with divinity, where
people see it as a representation link between the world of humans and
transcendent realms.

While traditional practices may offer stability and a sense of continuity, innovation

IMPACT A CITY’S ECONOMIC LANDSCAPE AND OVERALL APPEAL TO
RESIDENTS. HOWEVER, DECISIONS REGARDING THE CONSTRUCTION OR
EXPANSION OF THESE FACILITIES ARE SOMETIMES DRIVEN MORE BY
POLITICAL CONSIDERATIONS THAN BY THE PREFERENCES OF LOCAL
RESIDENTS. THERE ARE SOME KEY CHALLENGES IDENTIFIED UPON
CONSTRUCTING A CONVENTION CENTER SUCH AS DIFFICULTIES IN
RECRUITING AND RETAINING SKILLED STAFF IN OPERATIONAL ROLES
THUS AFFECTING CUSTOMERS’ EXPERIENCE; THE RISING ENERGY
COSTS; AND A DEMAND FOR HYBRID EVENTS WHICH IS OPTING FOR

ECO-GADERIAN IS A PROPOSED CONVENTION CENTER IN TRECE


MARTIRES CITY CAVITE WHICH INCORPORATES CHARACTERISTICS OF
SUSTAINABILITY, GREEN ARCHITECTURE, AND BIOCLIMATIC BUILDING
DESIGN. ITS NAME ECO CAME FROM THE WORD ECO-FRIENDLY WHILE
THE GADERIAN CAME FROM THE OLD ENGLISH MEANS TO GATHER. IT IS
A BUILDING THAT IS DESIGNED TO HOLD A CONVENTION WHERE
DIFFERENT GROUP OF INDIVIDUALS GATHER TO MEET, DISCUSS,
PROMOTE AND SHARE THEIR COMMON INTERESTS. THE
ACKNOWLEDGED POSSIBLE END-USER ARE: CHILDREN, TEENS, ADULTS,
ELDERS AND PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES. ALONGSIDE IS THE
INTEGRATION OF ECO-FRIENDLY DESIGNS FEATURING A VERTICAL
GARDEN FACADE INSPIRED FROM PAYNETA IN THE FIRST BUILDING
WITH A ROOFTOP GARDEN WHICH IS INSPIRED FROM A COFFEE BEAN
HALVES INTO TWO. BOTH INNOVATION AIDS THE CONTROL IN THERMAL
HEAT, AND NATURAL AIR FILTER WITHOUT TOTALLY BLOCKING THE
CAPABILITY OF DAYLIGHTING THE BUILDING. ANOTHER FEATURE IS THE
GREEN PONTOUS FAÇADE SLANTING VERTICALLY FROM THE
SKYLIGHTED ROOF DOWN TO THE GROUND SERVING AS A NATURAL
DOWNSPOUT WITH THE COMBINATION OF RAINWATER HARVESTING
