CODE OF CONDUCT
PREAMBLE
This of conduct for student reflects the core values of RIVERDALE University and should read in
conjunction with the University’s Disciplinary Rules for Student, as well as all other applicable policies,
regulations and rule of the university. The conduct of each student is important for sustaining an
environment conductive to freedom of enquiry and the search for knowledge and truth. Therefore, the
University community requires a commitment from every registered student to-
Uphold the values and principles of RIVERDALE University by not acting in a manner that may
bring the name of the University into disrepute
Represent the university with pride and commitment
Promote the good name of ESCT UNIVERSITY;
Strive towards building an inclusive UNIVERSITY culture;
Embrace the diversity of our UNIVERSITY and all its student and staff;
Address unfair discrimination and violence in all their manifestation wherever they may be
encountered; and
Protect and uphold the integrity of the UNIVERSITY’s qualification in all their dealings with the
UNIVETRSITY.
COMPLIANCE WITH THE CODE OF CONDUCT
All registered students of the UNIVERSITY are required to read and understand the Code of Conduct for
Student (“the Code”) and to ensure that they comply with the letter as well as the spirit, being the
content and underlying intention of the Code. Therefore, students will be required to declare that they
have read and understood the Code during the annual registration process.
The Code is based on the principles of ethical and appropriate behavior within the University and
wider social context. These principles are at the core of the University’s everyday activities and the main
reason for its existence, namely providing quality academic education and training of students,
enhancing the holistic support of students to promote their success, as well as the fostering of norms
and values of excellence.
The principles of academic integrity and honesty are inherent requirements for the preservation of
the integrity of the qualifications awarded by the University. Safeguarding such principles is essential to
establishing and maintaining an environment that is conducive to sound academic practices and in
shaping individuals who will add value to society and maintain the University’s reputation and the
integrity of its qualification nationally and globally.

[C] MODE OF DRESSING
In all appearances, students should note that cleanliness, neatness, modesty, decency and
appropriateness in dressing are important values which reflect individual dignity and sobriety through
which students as well as staff and faculty represent the professional status of their respective
discipline.
1. Students should maintain a clean and well-cared for appearance in all settings on campus.
2. Students are to put on their white shirts and skirts (for female) and trousers (for male) on
Monday and Tuesday
3. Students are to put on the school polo on jeans or skirts or trousers on Wednesday and
Thursday
4. Students have the right to determine their own attire on Friday except where the dress is
interfering with the prohibited dresses.
5. Short shorts or pants that do not cover undergarments. (No sagging pants at any time).
6. Extremely tight-fitting clothes, including skirts whose lengths are indecently above the knees,
trouser, and blouses are not allowed on campus;
7. Clothes that reveal sensitive parts of the body such as the bust, chest, belly, and the buttocks.
Example of such dresses are transparent clothing. “spaghetti tops”, “wicked straps”, “mono
straps”, “tubes”, and “show me your belly” are prohibited;
8. Inappropriate outfits, such an indecent part-wear, beachwear, night wears and bathroom
clippers are not allowed;
9. Dress codes must be gender neutral and applied uniformly
10. Inappropriate outfits, such an indecent part-wear, beachwear, night wears and bathroom
slippers, flip-flops, cleats, or roller skate shoes are not permitted.
CONSEQUENCES OF NON-COMPLIANCE
Students are responsible for the consequences of their actions, violation of the standards set out in the
Code may result in the University taking action and disciplinary measures.
