 Relationships always play an important role in everyday lives. People need to


develop and maintain different kinds of relationships in their lives as a source of
balance. Among those, friendship seems to be very important to most people.
As the saying goes, “Life without a friend is like death without a witness.”

 In Vietnamese culture, relationships among people are often highly valued, and
having a good friend to turn to in their hour of need is what most people desire.
Friendship doubles our joy and divides our grief.

 What causes friendship to break up?

 Of course, there are many reasons why a friendship can’t last forever. Lend your
money and lose your friend, as most people often say. Surely, when it comes to
money matters, it is such a big deal. Therefore, when a friend asks for some
money, think it twice before you say Yes. What’s more, sometimes you need to
respect your friend’s privacy and don’t try to ask too many personal questions.
You know, a hedge between keeps friendship green.

 What should we do to maintain our friendship?

 Don’t be a fair – weather friend because a friend in need is a friend indeed.
