CHORD TYPES

Major chords 1-4-3 = root + major 3rd + perfect 5th (0 + 4 + 7).

Minor chords 1-3-4 = root + minor 3rd + perfect 5th (0 + 3 + 7).


Cm: C Eb G

Diminished chords 1-3-3 = root + minor 3rd + diminished 5th (0 + 3 + 6).


Cdim: C Eb Gb

Major 7th chords 1-4-3-4 = major triad + major 7th (0 + 4 + 7 + 11).


Cmaj7: C E G B thoughtful, soft, jazzy
