Prom Orders
Project Overview:
You will create an order of floral materials for prom season for your fictional floral shop.

Directions:
1. Read the following scenario:
· You will oversee the ordering of the floral materials for your fictional floral shop for
prom season. You will need to order all materials required to create the
boutonnieres.

2. When creating an order for your fictional floral shop, ensure to consider the following
information:
· The total number of students in your floral class will be a baseline estimate for
how many boutonnieres are needed in this order
· The type of flowers and how many will be needed
- color is not necessary to be specified
- when selecting flowers and foliage, ensure to include various types and styles
for design diversity
· this prevents repetition and helps create unique arrangements for different
customers, rather than using the same design for the entire school

3. Open a spreadsheet program such as Microsoft® Excel® or Google SheetsTM to create


a virtual order sheet. Be sure to include a column for each of the following categories:
· Item
· Quantity
· Price per unit
· Price per item
· Sales tax
· Total cost of the order

4. To complete your spreadsheet, use all available resources to research the following
information:
· Wholesale pricing for:
- flowers
- foliage
- floral tape
- wire
- decorative accessories

5. Once completed, turn in your spreadsheet according to your instructor’s directions.
