Examination Rules
There are five examination sessions: January, February, June, July, and September.
The exam consists of a written test, structured as follows:
• 3 theory questions (maximum score: 18 points),
• 2 exercises (maximum score: 14 points).
The total duration of the written test is 2 hours.
Content
• The theory questions cover topics presented during the course (definitions, theorems,
propositions, lemmas, corollaries, remarks, proofs, examples, and counterexamples).
• The exercises are based on those presented and discussed during the course.
Passing criteria
To pass the exam, the following conditions must be satisfied simultaneously:
• Q ≥ 8 (score in the theory part),
• E ≥ 5 (score in the exercises part),
• Q + E ≥ 18 (total score).
where Q is the score obtained in the theory part and E the score obtained in the exercises.
Additional rules
• This is not an open-book exam: notes and textbooks are not allowed.
• An oral exam may be required only at the teacher’s request, and it must be taken in
the same session as the written exam.
Online exams
According to university regulations, students in international mobility programs may request to take
the exam online. If approved, the exam will take place on the official exam dates and will consist of:
1. Written part (duration: 1 hour): theory questions that require the student’s own elaboration
(answers are not directly contained in the course notes).
2. Oral part: exercises and possibly additional theory questions.
