GTA V Platform Switcher

If you have installed game from Steam


1. Logoff from RGL
2. Drop all files from archive to game folder ("Switcher" folder, .exe and .config (look at the
picture to make sure you have done everything right)
3. Open Switcher, click Fix “Play on Steam” issue
4. Follow instructions in pop-up window
5. Click Mark game as installed on Steam

If you have installed game from RGL (Rockstar Games Launcher)


1. Open RGL - Settings - GTAV. Click Move, select steamapps\common folder
2. Logoff from RGL
3. Drop all files from archive to game folder ("Switcher" folder, .exe and .config (look at the
picture to make sure you have done everything right)
4. Switch to Steam edition, open Steam, click Install. Steam will verify files instead of
downloading them

If you have installed game from EGL (Epic Games Launcher)


1. Logoff from RGL, quit EGL
2. Drop all files from archive to game folder ("Switcher" folder, .exe and .config (look at the
picture to make sure you have done everything right)
3. If you want to use Steam edition (or Steam and RGL):
3a.1. Move game to steamapps\common and rename folder to “Grand Theft Auto V”
3a.2. Open C:\ProgramData\Epic\EpicGamesLauncher\Data\Manifests folder,
open .item files by one to find what’s manifest is GTA’s
3a.3. Replace folder path with double backslashes instead of single (for example, C:\
Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Grand Theft Auto V → C:\\Program Files
(x86)\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\Grand Theft Auto V) in three lines
3a.4. Switch to Steam edition, open Steam, click Install. Steam will verify files instead of
downloading them
3b.1. Open Switcher, click Fix “Play on Steam” issue
3b.2. Follow instructions in pop-up window
3b.3. Click Mark game as installed on Steam
4. If you want to use RGL edition without Steam:
4.1. Logoff from RGL, quit EGL
4.2. Drop all files from archive to game folder ("Switcher" folder, .exe and .config (look
at the picture to make sure you have done everything right)
4.3. Open C:\ProgramData\Epic\EpicGamesLauncher\Data\Manifests folder, open .item
files by one to find what’s manifest is GTA’s
4.4. Replace folder path with double backslashes instead of single (for example, C:\
Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto V → C:\\Program Files\\Rockstar Games\\
Grand Theft Auto V) in three lines
4.5. Open Switcher, click Fix “Play on Epic” issue
4.6. Install game via RGL to folder upper of current folder
4.7. Click Mark game as installed on Epic

How to add EGL edition to existing Steam or RGL
installation:
1. Logoff from RGL
2. Drop all files from archive to game folder ("Switcher" folder, .exe and .config (look at the
picture to make sure you have done everything right)
3. Open Switcher, select EGL
4. Choose existing folder (for ex. steamapps\common\Grand Theft Auto V or Rockstar
Games\Grand Theft Auto V), don’t confirm installation
5. Rename existing folder to something different
6. Click Install, quit EGL
7. Move all files from renamed folder to new one
8. Open EGL and click continue

How to use after all above


(Only when you want to
switch, in other cases launch
game as usual through RGL,
Steam or EGL)
1. Logoff from RGL
2. Launch Switcher
3. Choose needed GTAV edition
4. Click Launch game

How to update game files manually?


• If you're updating Steam edition, copy all .exe to "Switcher\Steam" folder after update in
Steam
• If you're updating RGL edition, copy all .exe files to "Switcher\RGL" folder after update in RGL
• If you're updating EGL edition, copy all .exe files to "Switcher\EGL" folder after update in EGL
