WEEKLY LESSON PLAN – TOPIC: CONSTRUCTIONS

Monday: Geometrical Terms (Point, Line, Line Segment, Ray, Plane)

Explanation & Examples:

 Point: A position in space with no size.

Example: Dot on paper (●).
 Line: A straight path extending infinitely in both directions.
Example: ↔
 Line Segment: A part of a line with two endpoints.
Example: AB with endpoints A and B.
 Ray: A line with one endpoint and extends infinitely in one direction.
Example: →
 Plane: A flat surface extending infinitely in all directions.
Example: Surface of a table.

Activities:

1. Draw and label a point named P.

2. Draw and label a line named XY.
3. Draw and label a line segment AB of 5 cm.
4. Draw and label a ray starting at O through A.
5. Represent a plane using a rectangle and label it.
6. Identify examples of line, point, ray in your classroom.

Tuesday: Measure Different Lines and Angles Accurately

Explanation & Examples:

 Use a ruler to measure line segments.

 Use a protractor to measure angles.
Example 1: Measure 6 cm using a ruler.
Example 2: Measure an angle of 45°.
Example 3: Measure an angle of 120°.
Activities:

1. Draw a line segment of 4 cm and measure it.

2. Draw a line segment of 8 cm and measure it.
3. Draw and measure an angle of 30°.
4. Draw and measure an angle of 75°.
5. Draw and measure an angle of 150°.
6. Find objects in your classroom with right angles and measure.

Wednesday: Construct Different Types of Angles (Acute, Obtuse, Right,

Straight, Reflex)

Explanation & Examples:

 Acute Angle: Less than 90° (e.g., 45°).

 Right Angle: Exactly 90°.
 Obtuse Angle: Between 90° and 180° (e.g., 120°).
 Straight Angle: 180°.
 Reflex Angle: Greater than 180° (e.g., 240°).

Activities:

1. Construct an acute angle of 45°.

2. Construct an acute angle of 30°.
3. Construct an obtuse angle of 120°.
4. Construct a right angle of 90°.
5. Construct a straight angle of 180°.
6. Construct a reflex angle of 240°.

Thursday: Real-Life Word Problems (Angles & Lines)

Word Problems:

1. A signboard makes an angle of 90° with the ground. What type of angle is this?
2. A ladder leaning against a wall makes an angle of 70° with the ground. What type of
angle is this?
3. A clock shows 3:00. What type of angle is formed between the hands?
4. A clock shows 6:00. What type of angle is this?
5. A door is opened such that it makes an angle of 120° with the frame. What type of angle
is this?
6. A Ferris wheel rotates through 240°. What type of angle is this?
