Overview of the position


Clinical Governance and Innovation (CGI) is responsible for clinical governance,
evaluation, assessments and rehabilitation and reintegration projects, under Rehabilitation
and Reintegration, Offender Services.

The Clinical Evaluation Supervisor is responsible for the development, implementation,


analysis, and reporting of clinical evaluations of clinical services delivered by the
Rehabilitation and Reintegration branch. The role is also responsible for the supervision
of project officers undertaking clinical evaluations.

Job description
As part of the Rehabilitation and Reintegration team, the successful applicant will be
expected to:

• Maintain focus on the Department’s goals concerning safety, security and


rehabilitation
• Work to improve communication and model integrity and respect in all interactions

• Operate within the Department's Corporate Governance Framework, policies and
procedures and ensure effective transparency and accountability of all Department
activity
• Operate within the chain of command to coordinate activities required to meet the
Department’s strategic objectives
• Work collaboratively to achieve common goals and best practice and facilitate
business improvements as appropriate
• Facilitate cultural and management reforms within the Department through leadership
and engagement
• Represent the Department’s interest on committees and working groups as required.

Role specific responsibilities


• Develops, implements and facilitates the delivery and scheduling of all clinical
evaluation plans; ensuring clinical and psychological relevancy and developing new
initiatives with a focus on safety, rehabilitation, reintegration and a reduction in
offending.
• Develops, reviews and implements assessment, case management and rehabilitation
practices in consultation with the Reintegration and Rehabilitation Directorate, and
relevant stakeholders and service providers.
• Researches, maintains awareness and communicates on all relevant legislation,
Government policies, professional standards and scientific literature relating to clinical
and psychological service provision.
• Delivers training, consultancy and user support for relevant managers/stakeholders
with respect to the assessment and case management functions provided by the role.
• Provides expertise and specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to
other professionals across the directorate and Department.
• Networks with key stakeholders, either internally or externally to ensure Departmental
strategies reflect psychological best practice and community standards.
• Other duties as required in accordance with strategic objectives, business plans, local
workload priorities and performance management plans.

a changing environment, able to determine appropriate actions despite a lack of clarity, a

within a set timeframe are fundamental to this role.

stakeholders, team members and other staff in the agency, to actively listen to staff,

Role Specific Criteria


• Four year Degree in Psychology.
• Eligibility for registration with the Psychologists’ Board of Western Australia.
• Demonstrated experience and understanding of evaluating clinical interventions and
assessment practices.
• Understanding of clinical supervision practices for evaluating staff working with
complex ‘at risk’ individuals.

Special requirements/equipment
Travel within the state may be required.
