BEDTIME PRAYER
Isaiah 26:3 You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because
they trust in you.
- Sino dito Hindi makatulog, may mga pangit na dreams, stress, experience anxiety?
- Sino dito natutulog may dalang worries, may dalang takot, may dalang complaints,
bit bit nila hanggang pagtulog iniisip pa din nila.? Tapos magtataka sila bakit
parang wala akong rest.?
- Kung hindi mo manyan nararanasan, this message is still for you.
- This is not a Ritual or a Formula but it is a Relationship.
1. Gratitude/Thanksgiving.
Gratitude - the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for
and to return kindness.
Thanksgiving - the act of saying or showing that you are grateful,
Gratitude is not just about being polite, it is not just about having manners. – it is
a form of worship. It acknowledges that everything you have, everything you need,
comes from God. Gratitude leads to humility.
Thanksgiving is not a response only to good things. It is a declaration that He is
good even in difficult times.
Remember this,
a. Thanksgiving is a Gate. An access to God. It is an entry point for spiritual
alignment for the truth.
Alam nyo ba kapag tayo ay nagpapasalamat before matulog, even we are tired,
even we are hurting they Open a door that allows the Holy Spirit to come in
& fill them. Not with feelings, but with Strength, With Rest, with Clarity.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for
you in Christ Jesus.
- This verse is not a suggestion, but a command.
- Giving thanks is not optional sa mga tagasunod Niya. It is His will.
Alam nyo yung sitwasyon na ang hirap ng sitwasyon, masakit, pero ang nakikita
mo pa din ay si Jesus sa sitwasyon na yun at bago ka matulog you bend your knee
and sinasabi mo yung pinagdadaanan mo kahit confuse ka and yet you give
gratitude/Thanksgiving in those sufferings. Alam nyo ba na isa yun sa highest
forms of Trust.
Kapag tayo ay nagpapasalamat sa hirap nadinaranas natin we are not denying the
reality, but we are declaring faith.
We are inviting the Holy Spirit and it prepares the soul for peace, it close
the door for anxiety.
Sabi sa Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every
situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to
God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your
hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
We can see here that it emphasized the word with Thanksgiving. Marami
nagppray but they forget to give thanks in every situation we have.
Kapag may heart tayo na mahilig magpasalamat,
we resist the Spirit of complaint, self pity, Spirit of confusion,
yan kasi umaattack satin para lalo tayong manghina at mawalan ng pag-asa but
with thanks giving we resist this kind of Spirit.
Kaya sab isa Psalm 100:4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with
praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.
b. Thanksgiving is a discipline. It must be practiced. It is not base on mood,
good or bad man yung nangyari sa atin sa maghapon. It is a decision to
acknowledge God’s presence, provision, & promises.
Sabi po sa Psalm 92:1-2 is good to praise the Lord and make music to your
name, O Most High,

proclaiming your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night,
Thanksgiving at night is a part of Spiritual rhythm, It closes the day in
acknowledgement & prepares the heart for rest.
A person who thanks God each night is a person who remembers
they are not self-sufficient, they are not in control, they are dependent.
And that is the safest place to be.
Kaya enjoy Siya sa presence ni Lord.
Psalm 16:11 You make known to me the path of life, in Your presence there is
fullness of joy and at your right hand are pleasure forever more.
We give thanks to God for not just what He has done, but who He is.
2. Confess your sins to God.
- a. Confession is about a release from the access of the enemy in your life.
- Spoke your sins to God. Most of the time Christian became silence on their sins.
They go to sleep with sins they never speak of. They are not unrepentant. They are
silent.
- Silence means you agree. Right? Hindi nyo ba alam yung pagiging silent natin sa
ating mga kasalanan ay grounds yun ng enemy na i-permit natin siya at kapag
hinayaan natin na hindi tayo mag confess ng ating mag kasalanan, pagkukulang. It
became strongholds yun ng enemy sa ating buhay.
- But, when you confess, you revoke that permission. Parang you are bringing the
darkness into the light. At kapag na exposes yung darkness sa light, it loses its
power.
- Sabi sa 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our
sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
- Makikita natin dito it emphasized yung word na IF. Forgiveness is always
available, but is accessed through confession.
- Kaya kapag may mga restless night tayo, disturbed night, heavy yung pakiramdam
mo, stranged dreams. Madalas bunga ito ng kasalanang iniignore at hindi
naipapahayag. Doorway yun ng enemy. But confession closed that door.
- Kaya nga kung may nakagalit tayo, may nasabi tayong hindi Maganda sa tao or
naisip na hindi Maganda, confess natin yun agad sa Lord lalo na bago tayo
matulog. Hindi natin nakikita, pero something in our hearts may narerelease.
Tandaan natin
b. Confession removes what the enemy planted within us.
It makes room for peace. It cleanse us.
Diba bago tayo matulog, naghuhugas tayo or naliligo tayo, same din sa
Spiritual, confession removes the dirt of the enemy sa soul natin.
Sabi po ng Psalm 32:5 I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not cover my iniquity; I
said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” and you forgave the iniquity of my
sin.
Confession includes naming things clearly, an honest acknowledgement.
Confession is agreeing with God. By saying Lord, this is wrong, I take full responsibility,
and yes, I trust you to forgive me.
This kind of Honesty is very powerful, It restores intimacy.
Confession is not once in a while. It is daily, because we sin daily. Whether in thoughts, in
mouth, in attitude in actions.
Confessions, prevents build up spiritual calluses. Ibig sabihin, kapag lagi natin nagagawa
yung isang kasalanan, sample pagsisinungaling, pag iisip ng hindi Maganda sa tao.
tapos hindi tayo nagcoconfess, lumalaki yun sa buhay natin at later on nasasanay na
tayo, feeling natin normal lang yun at hindi need ihingi ng tawad sa Lord dahil hindi
naman nakikita ng iba.
Magiging Malaki yun sa buhay natin, at kapag lumaki yun, remember sin yun, yun ang
food ng demons pupuntagan tayo ng demons at pwede manatili sa katawan natin yun
para ma express nila yung gusto nila through us.
Proverbs 28:13 Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he
who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.
Mercy is not automatic, it is available. But it received through honesty.
Honesty in confession.
Honest when we confess.
Confession invites me. I do not require perfection, I require truth.
c. Confession is a weapon. It silences the accuser.
Revelation 12:10 ….for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses
them day and night before our God.
Kapag tayo nagkakasala, sinasabi ni satan satin, Yan ba ang Christian? Hindi ka na ligtas!
ngayon Kapag tayo ay nagconfess, and receives yung forgiveness ng Lord. Yung
accusation satin ni satan nawawalan ng power. At nawawala yung accusation niya dahil
we confess.
Kaya sab isa Romans 8:1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in
Christ Jesus,
Condemnation only lifts when confession happens.
Otherwise people carry guilt na hindi naman dapat nila bitbit. Kaya do not sleep with
hidden guilt. Wag nating hayaang may unresolve sin tayo bago tayo matulog sa gabi.
Kaya bago tayo matulog, kung naglilinis tayo ng katawan, ganun din sa ating kasalanan.
3. Surrender.
a. Surrender is a Trust and a release of Control.
It is an acknowledgement that He is God; and I am not.
Surrender all your concern, your fear, your plan, your heaviness.
Sabi po ng 1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
It is not an advice, but a command.
Remember, people are not design to carry worry through the night. Our Soul is not
built to sustain anxiety without breaking down overtime.
Ang ating kaluluwa ay hindi dinisenyo to sustain ang anxiety overtime, masisira ito
kapag tumagal.
Matthew 11:28-30 “Lumapit kayo sa akin, kayong lahat na nahihirapan at
lubhang nabibigatan sa inyong pasanin, at kayo'y bibigyan ko ng kapahingahan. 29
Pasanin ninyo ang aking pamatok at matuto kayo sa akin sapagkat ako'y maamo
at may mababang loob. Makakatagpo kayo sa akin ng kapahingahan 30 sapagkat
madaling dalhin ang aking pamatok at magaan ang pasaning ibibigay ko sa inyo.
Rest is not just physical, it is Spiritual and it begins with Surrender.
Hanggat hindi tayo sumusuko, hindi magiging magaan ang ating pasanin.
Gusto natin ng peace, surrender, alam mo yung binigay mo na sa Lord pero isip
kapa din ng isip at hindi ka pa din mapakali, kinokontrol mo pa din yung sitwasyon.
Hindi yun surrender, ang Surrender, when you give up everything sa Lord and You
Trust Him for whatever results.
Surrender means letting go, a stopping of endless review of problems.
Trusting that Jesus is already at work.
Sabi sa Psalm 4:8 In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me
dwell in safety.
Peace is not based on circumstances; it is based on who holds your
circumstances.
Sample iiwan mo anak mo sa kapitbahay mo dahil may biglang lakad ka, may
peace ka kaya? So yung peace hindi siya naka based sa circumstances tama? Naka
based siya sa hunahawak ng circumstances.
Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed
you were called in one body. And be thankful.
So we must surrender our finances, our health, children, work, relationship, the
future, everything.
b. Surrender is a process.
It must be repeated daily. Each time you surrender you are reminding your soul
that God is in charge.
Hanggat hindi natatapos or nauulit yung sitwasyon, we must continue to surrender again
and again. It is also saying na hindi yung way ko or yung understanding ko sa sitwasyon
ang mangyari kundi yung will mo para sa akin.
Kaya sabi sa Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own
understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.[a]
It emphasizes the word submit. Surrender is not about understanding; it is about
obedience. It is about placing the day and the next day in His hands.
Surrender before your head touch your pillow. Sabihin mo sa Lord, Jesus, I surrender to
you, I let go, I give all to you.
4. Invite His presence.
God does not force His presence but God is waiting for an invitation of His presence in
your life.
Invite Him to, Fill your heart, fill your cup, to guard the mind, to cover your home, to
surround with rest.
Sabi sa Luke 11:13 If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your
children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask
him!
Remember this, The Holy Spirit is not given once, we must invite Him daily, He must
always welcome Him in our lives. And kung saan Siya welcome, Andun ang
kapangyarihan.
The Holy Spirit is your Comforter, your Helper, Your Teacher, Your Defender. Church, Do
not go to sleep without Him. Invite Him, and you will rest under divine protection.
Sabi sa Ephesians 5:18-19 but be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another in
psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the
Lord,
Paano mo ito gagawin sa gabi bago ka matulog? Pls gawin natin ito in a quiet room. The
Holy Spirit wants us in Stillness. A Quiet heart. So wag ka muna magsalita, itahimik mo
muna sarili mo, before praying.
Holy Spirit, Fill me, fill my room with your presence. Speak to me in my imaginations and
in my dreams. Teach me even while I sleep.
Psalms 16:7 I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel; My [a]heart also instructs
me in the night seasons.
Kapag hindi natin ininvite ang Holy Spirit sa buhay at bahay natin bago tayo matulog,
nag iiwan tayo ng open door for spiritual interference. Means hinahayaan natin bukas
ang bahay at buhay natin sa panghihimasok ng kaaway.
Do not ignore the Spirit of God. He is God, the Holy Spirit. He is a Person, kilalanin natin
Siya. Do not ignore Him!
John 14:26-27 26 But the [a]Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor,
Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will
teach you all things. And He will help you remember everything that I have told
you. 27 Peace I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do
I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid.
- This is not a Ritual or a Formula but it is a Relationship. It is done with a sincere
heart.
