Materials
● 3.5 mm hook
● Yarns (sport weight): Black, Brown, Green (optional: for leaf)
● Toy stuffing
● Yarn needle
● Scissors
Stitches
● Chain (ch)
● Magic ring (MR)
● Slip stitch (sl st)
● Surface slip stitch (surface sl st)
● Single crochet (sc)
● Surface single crochet (surface sc)
● Single crochet increase (inc)
● Single crochet decrease (dec)
● Half double crochet (hdc)
● 2 Double Crochet Cluster Stitch (2 dc-cl)
○ Yarn over, insert your hook into the next stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn
over
○ Pull through 2 loops, yarn over
○ Insert your hook into the same stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over.
○ Pull through 2 loops, yarn over.
○ Pull through the remaining three loops to complete the 2 Double Crochet
Cluster Stitch.

Round 7: (5 sc, inc) around (42)

Rounds 9-15: sc around (48)
Begin stuffing. Continue to stuff as you go, making sure the head is firm.
Round 16: (6 sc, dec) around (42)

DO NOT FINISH OFF.
Before closing, add the leaf.
Leaf
With green yarn (optional), brown yarn can be used instead:
● Join yarn with a sl st into the third stitch of the
last round of the head, then chain 5.
● In ch5, skip the first stitch then sc in next
stitch, hdc in next two stitches then 3sc in the
final stitch.
● Turn and work on the other side of the
starting chain, hdc in next two stitches, sc in
next stitch and slip stitch to the first stitch.
Finish off leaving a long tail, pick up the last
stitch on the head and slip stitch the head
closed. Finish off head, leave a long tail and
weave in ends.
Mouth
With black yarn:
Round 1: 6 sc in MR (6)
Round 2: inc around, slip stitch to first stitch, finish off leaving a long tail for sewing (12)
Sew the mouth onto the head, using the visual reference as a guide.
With brown yarn:
Round 1: starting at the base of the black circle, surface single crochet evenly around the
mouth

Round 2-3: sc in each stitch
Slip stitch into last stitch and finish off.
Eyes
With black yarn:
Ch 5
Round 1: sc in 2nd chain from the hook, sc in next 2 stitches, inc in last stitch and turn.
Down the other side sc in next 3 stitches, slip stitch to first stitch. Finish off leaving a long tail
for sewing.
Once you have sewn the eyes in place using the visual reference as a guide, surface single
crochet eyebrows as so (from red line to red line), making the last stitch a surface slip stitch:
Body
With brown yarn:
To create the neck attach yarn at the base of the head.
Round 1: Surface sc a 6sc circle (6)
Round 2: inc around (12)
Round 3: (sc, inc) around (18)
Rounds 4-6: sc around (18)
Round 7: (2 sc, inc) around (24)
Rounds 8-9: sc around (24)
Round 10: (2 sc, dec) around (18)
Round 11: (sc, dec) around (12)

Finish off, leaving a long tail to weave in remaining stitches, pull the tail gently to close hole.

Round 2: inc, 3 sc, inc , sc, inc, 3 sc, inc, sc
