INFORMATION BULLETIN
JHARKHAND COMBINED ENTRANCE COMPETITIVE EXAMINATION (For Agriculture and other allied courses) – 2025

1. INTRODUCTION

In compliance with the J.C.E.C.E. Board Act & requisition received from the concerned

Department(s) of Govt. of Jharkhand, the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive

Examination Board has decided to conduct the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive

Examination (For Agriculture and other allied courses) - 2025, for the academic session

2025-25. This entrance test is being conducted for the admission in first Semester/year

degree level professional courses like B.V.Sc. & A.H., B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture, B.Sc. (Hons.)

Forestry, B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture, B.Tech.(Agriculture Engineering), B.Tech.(Dairy

Technology), B.F.Sc. (Bachelor of Fisheries Science) within the State of Jharkhand.


Recommendation will be made on Merit-cum-Choice basis prepared from J.C.E.C.E. (For

Agriculture and other allied courses) – 2025 Merit List.

2. DEFINITIONS

a. “Professional Courses” means B.V.Sc. & A.H., B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture, B.Sc. (Hons.)

Forestry, B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture, B.Tech.(Agriculture Engineering), B.Tech.(Dairy

Technology), B.F.Sc. (Bachelor of Fisheries Science) or any other courses of

similar type which is of Degree Level.

b. “Examination” means Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (For

Agriculture and other allied courses) conducted by J.C.E.C.E. Board.

c. “Board” means Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board i.e.

J.C.E.C.E. Board

d. “Government” means Government of Jharkhand.

e. “Controller of Examination” means Controller of Examination, J.C.E.C.E. Board,

appointed by Govt. of Jharkhand.

f. “Jharkhand” means Jharkhand State after reorganization as defined in section-3 of Bihar

Re-organization Act – 2000.

g. “Qualifying Examination” means that examination on the basis of which a Applicant is


eligible to appear in Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (For
Agriculture and other allied courses).

3. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

(a) Applicants are required to go through the Information Bulletin carefully and acquaint
themselves with it.
(b) The Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (For Agriculture and other allied
courses) – 2025 will be conducted in one stage.

(c) Information Bulletin can be downloaded from the link “Information Bulletin for J.C.E.C.E.

(For Agriculture and other allied courses) – 2025” which is available under "Download"

column on the Homepage of the Board's website http://jceceb.jharkhand.gov.in

(d) Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination will be conducted and regulated

by the established procedures and directions/decisions of the Board following the

direction of Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi etc.

(e) The Applicants are advised to retain the same mobile number and email-id in use which

they have entered into the Application form because the important information may be

given to the Applicant(s) through SMS or e-mail. The Applicants are advised to have their

own personal email id or Mobile Number.

(f) Merely appearance in J.C.E.C.E. (For Agriculture and other allied courses) - 2025 does not

confer the right to the Applicant for admission in Degree Courses. The selection and

admission to B.V.Sc. & A.H./B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture/ B.Sc. (Hons.) Forestry/B.Sc. (Hons.)

Horticulture/B.Tech.(Agriculture Engineering)/ B.Tech. (Dairy Technology)/B.F.Sc.

(Bachelor of Fisheries Science) course in any Institution is subject to fulfilling the

eligibility and admission criteria, medical fitness and such criteria as may be prescribed

by the Government, respective Universities, respective council and Technical

Institutions.

(g) Applicants submitting false and fabricated information in their application will not be

considered.

(h) Incomplete or wrong applications are liable to be rejected. The application-cum-

examination fee deposited will not be refunded in such cases.

(i) Fee once paid will not be carried forward to a future Examination. Online applications

and/or their confirmation of submission received after the due date will not be

entertained and examination fee will not be refunded in such cases. Applications once

submitted can't be withdrawn.

(j) Instructions in the Information Bulletin are liable to be changed based on decisions taken

by the Board/Govt. of Jharkhand from time-to-time. There is no equity or any rights that

are/or deemed to be arising in favour of Applicants.

(k) Board reserves the right to withdraw permission, if any, granted inadvertently to any

Applicant who is not eligible to appear in the J.C.E.C.E. (For Agriculture and other allied

courses) – 2025 even though the Roll Number and Admit Card has been issued by the

Board.

(l) Applicant’s eligibility is purely provisional and is subject to fulfillment of eligibility criteria
as prescribed by the Board.
(m) In case of any ambiguity arises in instructions/terms/rules/criteria's regarding
determination of eligibility/conduct of registration/examination of Applicants/
information contained therein, the decision of the J.C.E.C.E. Board shall be final and
binding.

4. Subject Groups for J.C.E.C.E. (For Agriculture and other allied courses) – 2025

4.1 P.C.M. Group – An Applicant who has passed in I.Sc / 10+2 or equivalent

examination with subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and is interested in

appearing in the Competitive Examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics,

then he/she will be called PCM Group. He/She will have to give answer the question

of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects in the examination.

4.2 P.C.B. Group – An Applicant who has passed in I.Sc / 10+2 or equivalent examination

with subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology and is interested in appearing in the

Competitive Examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology, then he/she will be

called PCB Group. He/She will have to give answer the question of Physics,

Chemistry and Biology subjects in the examination.

4.3 P.C.M.B. Group - An Applicant who has passed in I.Sc / 10+2 or equivalent

examination with subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology as well as keeping

Mathematics as an extra subject and is interested in appearing in the Competitive

Examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics, then he/she will be

called PCMB Group. He/She will have to answer the question of Physics, Chemistry,

Mathematics and Biology subjects in the examination.

5. PATTERN & SCORING OF J.C.E.C.E. (For Agriculture and other allied courses)-2025

ii) Scoring and Marking
Each question carries 1 mark. For each correct response the Applicant will get 1 mark.

For each incorrect response, ¼ marks will be deducted from the total score. No

deduction from the total score will, however, be made if no response is indicated for a

question in the answer sheet. More than one answer indicated against a question will

be considered as incorrect response and will be counted as negative marks.

iii) Language of the Question Papers:-


a. Question Paper consists of bi-lingual i.e. in English and Hindi language.

b. In case of any ambiguity in translation of any of the questions, its English version shall

be treated as final and correct.

6. DATE & TIMING OF THE ENTRANCE TEST

Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (For Agriculture and other allied
courses) – 2025 will be conducted on 15.06.2025. The subject-wise duration and timing
of the examination are as follows:-

The Timing of the examination will be printed on the Admit Card.


7. SYLLABUS FOR THE TEST:

The Question Papers for the Examination shall be based on a common syllabus notified by

the CBSE for class 11th &12th.

8. CENTRES FOR ENTRANCE TEST-

The J.C.E.C.E. (For Agriculture and other allied courses) – 2025 will be conducted in

Examination Centers at Ranchi and Dumka Headquaters in offline mode. Examination

center should be chosen carefully as changes are not allowed after submission of online

application.

9. Use of Calculator and Communication Aids

Use of electronic devices like mobile phone, calculator etc. is not permitted in

Examination Hall. Materials like log table, book, notebook, etc. should not be brought into

the examination hall.

10. ELIGIBILITY

10.1 Residential Criteria

The Applicant must be a citizen of India and Local/Permanent Resident of Jharkhand. The

"Local Resident of Jharkhand" has been defined vide resolution no. 7/Aa. Niti (Sarvdaliaye

Baithak) 27/2002 (Khand) ka.- 3198/, dated 18.04.2016 “Personnel, Administrative Reforms

and Rajbhasa Department”, Govt. of Jharkhand. The copy of Notification is available on the

Homepage of Board's website under "Download" column.

An Applicant will have to submit/show Permanent or Local Resident certificate in proper format

in ORIGINAL at the time of counselling/Admission, issued by competent authority [Circle Officer

or Sub Divisional Officer – (Civil) or Dy. Commissioner of Jharkhand State]. The Residential

Certificate issued by any other authority will not be accepted and his/her claim will be refuted.

10.2 Educational Criteria

 B.V.Sc. & A.H. – Intermediate in Science (10+2) or its equivalent examination with
Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as core course from a recognized Board/
University.
A candidate under General Category for admission to the

Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry degree course shall have to

qualify in each of the subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology and

obtained 50% marks in aggregate of those subjects, at the qualifying examination

and admission of students to B.V.Sc. and A.H. degree course shall made only on

the basis of his or her merit in the competitive entrance examination and no

other merit or weightage shall be considered for admission to Bachelor of

Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry Degree Course. In respect of

candidates belonging to the Scheduled Casts or the Scheduled Tribes or other

special category of students as specified by the Govt. time to time marks required

for admission shall be 5% less than that prescribed for General Category i.e.

47.5% (VCI Gazette Notification, 2016).

 B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture/ B.Sc. (Hons.) Forestry - Intermediate in Science (10+2) or


its equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Physics, Chemistry,
Mathematics from a recognized Board/University.
 B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture - 10+2/Intermediate with PCB, PCMB, PCM, PC Forestry or
Inter (Agriculture) (P- Physics, C-Chemistry, M-Mathematics, B-Biology) from a
recognized Board/University.
 B.Tech. (Agriculture Engineering)/B.Tech.(Dairy Technology) –
10+2/Intermediate with PCM (P- Physics, C- Chemistry, M-Mathematics) from a
recognized Board/University.
 B.F.Sc. (Bachelor of Fisheries Science) – Higher Secondary/10+2/ Intermediate
Sub: PCMB/PCB/Inter (Agriculture) (P, C, M and B are Physics, Chemistry,
Mathematics and Biology respectively) from a recognized Board/University.

Candidates appearing in the Qualifying Examination can also fill
the Application Form, but it will be mandatory to pass before the date of
Counselling, otherwise they will not be considered eligible for Admission.

10.3 Age Limit Criteria


 B.V.Sc. & A.H. – Applicant should be aged between 17 years and 25 years on or
before the 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year of
B.V.Sc. & A.H. course i.e. 31.12.2025.
There shall be a relaxation of maximum age by 5 years for
Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe/ Other Backward Class Candidates.
 B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture/B.Sc. (Hons.) Forestry/ B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture/
B.Tech.(Agriculture Engineering)/ B.Tech. (Dairy Technology)/B.F.Sc. (Bachelor
of Fisheries Science) – Applicant should be aged between 17 years and 22
years on the 1st of July of the academic year in which the student seeks
admission i.e. 01.07.2025. There shall be a relaxation of maximum age by 5
years for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/ Other Backward Class Candidates.
10.4 Physical Criteria: - Medical Checkup of Applicants recommended for admission
in all courses will be done by the Board or Institution and after check-up, only
medically fit Applicant will be treated as eligible for admission.

11. Reservation

11.1 Reservation on Caste/Income Basis


Up-to-date prevailing reservation policy of Govt. of Jharkhand will be followed in

all courses of Govt. and Non-Govt. Institutes. But, Applicants claiming against

reserved seat will have to show/submit Caste or Income & Assets certificate in

proper format in ORIGINAL at the time of counselling/admission, issued by

competent authority [Circle Officer or Sub Divisional Officer – (Civil) or Dy.

Commissioner of Jharkhand State]. The certificate issued by any other authority

will not be considered for claim of reservation and his/her claim for reservation

will be refuted and will be deemed to as General category [Ref. Letter No.-

14/Ja.Ni.-03-13/2015 ka.1754 dated 25.02.2020 of "Personnel, Administrative

Reforms and Rajbhasa Department," Govt. of Jharkhand] Format of Caste &

Income & Assets Certificate is available on "Act & Circulars" column on the

Board's website. As per the Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Rajbhasha

Department, Jharkhand notification no-5555 dated 28.06.2016 , a minimum of 2

% seats from ST category will now be made available to eligible candidates from

Primitive Tribal Group under horizontal reservation provided the Primitive Tribal

Group candidates do not figure in ST category merit list. As per letter no.-

14/Ja.Ni.-03-13/2015 ka.1754 dated 25.02.2020 of Deptt. Of Personnel,

Administrative Reforms and Rajbhasha, GoJ, Applicants belonging to BC – I & BC

– II, have to submit/show the Caste certificate which includes Non-Creamy Layer

factor at the time of counselling/admission. Caste certificate produced by BC – I

& BC – II Applicants will be valid only if he/she belongs to Non- creamy layer & it

should be mentioned in caste certificate. The caste certificate format is available

under "Download" column on Board's website.

11.2 Reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities

Seats are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities. The criteria &

percentage of physical disability is course-wise given below :-

Persons with Benchmark Disabilities will have to submit full size photograph as well
as CERTIFICATE OF DISABILITY issued by the Members of Medical Board & countersigned by the
Medical Superintendent/CMO/Head of Hospital of the Jharkhand State at the time of
counselling/Admission.
12. Method for Applying J.C.E.C.E. (For Agriculture and other allied courses) – 2025
Online Submission of Application form can be made by accessing "Click here for All
Online Application Submission – JCECEB 2025" link available on the Homepage of the

Board's website i.e. http://jceceb.jharkhand.gov.in. Before applying through ONLINE method, get
ready with Marks Sheet of Intermediate / 10+2, Scanned images of Photo, Signature & Left
thumb's impression. Instructions for submitting online application, payment of application-cum-
examination fee and computer generated Application Form printouts are mentioned in the
INFORMATION BULLETIN. Applicants are allowed to submit only one Application form. More
than one Application form will be rejected. The name of the Applicant and his/her Parent’s name
in the Application form must be identical as registered in 10th/ I.Sc./10+2/equivalent qualifying
examination. No prefix/title such as Mr/Shri/Fr/Dr/Mrs/Smt/Col etc are allowed in entering
his/her name or his/her Parent’s name. No options can be changed at a later stage after
submission of an Application form.
13. Application-cum-Examination Fee Details & Method for Submitting :-

Persons with Benchmark Disabilities are exempted from application-cum-examination fee
Method for submitting the application-cum-examination fee through ONLINE method :- After

submitting all the information, application-cum-examination fee can be remitted through

Payment Gateway through Credit Card / Debit Card / Net Banking/UPI. Service charge will be

borne by the Applicant on using Credit Card / Debit Card / Net Banking/UPI. Application-cum-

examination fee once paid will not be refunded (fully or partially) under any circumstances.

14. Important Instructions for Submitting the Application Form :-

Online :- Applicant of J.C.E.C.E. (For Agriculture and other allied courses) – 2025 have to apply

through Online mode only. They need not send the hard copy of Application Form i.e.

Confirmation page to the Board's Office. They should keep 3 or 4 printouts of it for future

reference.

15. Admit Card :-

The J.C.E.C.E. Board will provide the facility for downloading Online Admit Card of J.C.E.C.E.

(For Agriculture and other allied courses) – 2025 from the Board’s website. Applicants are

required to download the Online Admit Card from the website and follow the instructions given

therein. Applicants may please note that Admit Cards will not be sent by the post. The Online

Admit Card can be downloaded by accessing "ADMIT CARD" column on the Board’s website.

The Applicants are advised to download their Online Admit Cards from Board’s website only.

The Admit Card will bear the Applicant’s Name, Roll Number, Father’s Name, Category, PH,
Photograph, Date of Birth, Subject Group with Name and Address of J.C.E.C.E. (For Agriculture
and other allied courses) – 2025 Examination Centre allotted to him/her. The Applicant should
carefully examine the Admit Card downloaded by him/her for all the entries made therein.
o Applicant must not mutilate the Admit Card or change any entry made therein.
o Applicants are advised to preserve their Admit Card in good condition till
admission in Institutes is over.
o Applicants are advised to be in touch with the website of the Board for latest updates
and information till final round of counselling.

16. MERIT LIST :-

1. The Board will prepare the Combined Merit List as well as Category-Wise Merit List

(wherever applicable) of the appeared candidates in J.C.E.C.E. (For Agriculture and other

allied courses) – 2025.

A list of the appeared candidates in order of merit based on the score obtained in the

examination will be prepared by the Board and used for the purpose of allotment of

17. DECLARATION OF RESULT :-

The Board will conduct the J.C.E.C.E. (For Agriculture and other allied courses) – 2025
and declare the result and the same will be uploaded on the Board’s website. Thereafter
candidates may download the Result.
18. RULES FOR RE-CHECKING/RE-EVALUATION OF ANSWER SHEETS

There is no provision for re-checking/re-evaluation. No correspondence in this regard

will be entertained.

19. INSTRUCTIONS FOR COUNSELLING :-

19.1 Counselling: Computerized Distributed Parallel/Online Counselling would be conducted

by the Board. Information for counselling would also be available on the Board's website.

Candidates placed in Merit List are advised to read the counselling information bulletin carefully

and understand the course of action to be taken by them for appearing in the counselling. Any

19.2 Counselling will be conducted in two Rounds

 1st Round of Counselling: - After publication of Result, successful candidates will be

called for counselling as per Merit rank. Information regarding date, time, place and

mode of counselling will be given through the leading daily news papers of Jharkhand

State as well as Board’s website.

 2nd Round of Counselling: - If seats remain vacant after admission of recommended

candidates during the first round of counselling, second round of counselling will be

held. In this counselling, Candidates who have admitted through 1st round of

counselling may also participate to change their Course and/or Institute. Other

procedure will remain same as mentioned above.

19.3 Other Important Informations

 The Head of the concerned Institutes will neither consider any application regarding

change of Institute and/or course nor act against the decision of the Controller of

Examination after the end of admission process.

 Counselling Fee: - Successful Candidates of General/EWS/ BC -I/BC- II category who have


been called for counselling, will have to submit ` 400/- (` 250/- in case of SC/ST/ Female
of all categories) by using Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking/UPI to participate in the
counselling. Detailed information will be provided through advertisement made for
counselling.
 Controller of Examination on behalf of the Board will conduct all work corresponding to

the Examination and all decisions taken by him/her will be final and binding.

 Government/Board reserves the full right of any correction/change in the


Rules/Provisions/Informations included in this Information Bulletin. Such information
will be given to the candidates through leading daily news papers of Jharkhand State
and/or Board’s website.
 It is essential for successful candidates to produce ONLINE ADMIT CARD at the time of

counselling/admission. So, keep the ONLINE ADMIT CARD safely.

 If the information regarding the Candidate’s identity is found false at any stage, his/her

candidature will be CANCELLED at once and LEGAL ACTION will be taken against

him/her under the appropriate sections of Jharkhand Examination Conduct Rules &

Indian Penal Code which mandates imprisonment also.

 The candidate will be debarred from admission till final decision by the court in case of

any legal problem. If the decision comes in favour of Jharkhand Combined Entrance

Competitive Examination Board, all the expenses incurred on the case can be recovered

from the candidate with interest.

 Any dispute connected with competitive examination procedure /application /allotment

or any other type of claim will be settled within the jurisdiction of Hon’ble Jharkhand

High Court, Ranchi/ Civil Court, Ranchi.

 The Controller of Examination of the Board will be the legal authority through which

Board can file suit or against whom suit can be filed.

20. Important Directions and Informations for Counselling/Admission :-

 Successful candidates called for counselling must have to produce original copies and
self-attested photo copies of the following Certificates/Documents at the time of
counselling or at the time of admission in the concerned institute.
 The offer of admission shall be subject to verification of original certificates/documents

& identity at the time of counselling/Admission. If any Applicant is found ineligible at a

later stage even after examination, his/her candidature will be cancelled.

List of Original Certificates/Documents

o Admit Card, Marks Sheet, Passing Certificate (Original/Provisional) of Matric / 10th /

Equivalent Examination.

o Admit Card, Marks Sheet, Passing Certificate (Original / Provisional) of I.Sc. / 10+2

/Higher Secondary/Inter (Agriculture)/PC Forestry/Equivalent Examination.

o Local Resident Certificate issued by C.O./ S.D.O. (Civil) / D.C. of the Jharkhand State.

o Caste Certificate issued by Circle Officer/S.D.O. (Civil) / D.C. of Jharkhand State (in

case of taking the benefit of reservation). As per Letter No. 7/Ja.Ni. -03-13/2015 ka.

1754 dated 25.02.2020 of Deptt. Of Personnel, Administrative Reforms and

Rajbhasha, G.o.J., Candidates belonging to BC – I & BC – II, have to submit/show the

Caste certificate in which it should be mentioned that he/she belongs to non-

Creamy Layer. Those BC – I & BC – II Candidates, who do not belong to Creamy

Layer, can only avail the benefit of reservation.

o Income & Assets Certificate issued by C.O./ S.D.O. (Civil) / D.C. of Jharkhand State.

o One passport size photograph (made from the same negative of photograph

uploaded at the time of filling up the online Application form).

o Admit Card of J.C.E.C.E. (For Agriculture and other allied courses) – 2025 (if ADMIT

CARD is lost then copy of F.I.R. in this regard).

o Disability Certificate issued by the Members of Medical Board & countersigned by

the Medical Superintendent/CMO/ Head of Hospital.

Note: - Only F.I.R. copy will be entertained in case of losing ADMIT CARD. In other cases the same
will not be entertained under any circumstances.
 School/College Leaving Certificate is not required at the time of counselling. It is required to

be submitted at the time of admission in the concerned allotted Institute.

 If any successful candidate does not appear in counselling or does not produce all

required/prescribed certificates/documents issued by competent authority at the time

of admission or does not establish his/her identity or is being found unfit in Medical

Check-up, then candidature of such successful candidate will be considered rejected

automatically.

 Appropriate legal action as per suitable sections of India Penal Code will be taken

against candidates for trying to take admission on the basis of duplicate

certificates/documents or false/improper identity and will be debarred for next three

years from appearing in competitive examinations held by the Board. It will be essential

to produce Medical certificate issued by registered Doctor at the time of admission for

eligible & recommended candidates in allotted Institute. Admission will not be taken

without this.

 Allotment of Course & Institute to the candidate will be done on the basis of Merit-cum-

Choice on simultaneously available vacant seats on his/her merit serial at the time of

counselling. There is no other marks prescribed separately for counselling. There is no

guarantee of admission of candidates included in the Result.

 It will be essential for all recommended candidates and their Parents/Guardian to

submit an affidavit in prescribed format in their allotted Institute in light of directions

given in concern of anti-ragging by University Grant Commission at the time of

admission. The format of affidavit is available in UGC regulation column on Board’s

website.

 The vacant seat details will be displayed on the Board's website before starting of every

round of the counselling.

 It will be mandatory for the applicants to present the certificates/documents as per their

seat allotment at the time of admission in the allotted institute.
