二、课程描述

This course is meant to be a mixture of everyday speaking skills with academic


speaking skills. We will work from the common conversations had in a foreign
language to the structure of an academic presentation. Along the way, we will work on
vocabulary building, grammar structures, and usage towards a natural pronunciation. I
aim to teach the students the ‘basic skills’ and ‘concepts’, so that they understand the
‘big picture’ ideas, and can then teach themselves with an awareness of the topic.
