PENDAHULUAN
A. LATAR BELAKANG
Bahasa Inggris merupakan salah satu pelajaran wajib di SMP Kartika V-1
Balikpapan. Hampir semua peserta didik menyatakan bahwa bahasa Inggris sebagai
salah satu pelajaran yang sangat sulit dengan berbagai alasan diantaranya tidak
mengerti artinya, tidak bisa berbicara bahasa Inggris dan sebaginya. Terlepas dari
itu, OSIS SMP Kartika V-1 Balikpapan mengadakan kegiatan Class Meeting untuk
mengisi kekosongan waktu belajara setelah peserta didik menyelesaikan Penilaian
Akhir Semester Ganjil Tahun Pelajaran 2022/2023. Salah satu kegiatannya adalah
lomba pidato bahasa Inggris yang akan diikuti oleh perwakilan dari setiap kelas 7, 8
dan 9.
B. TUJUAN
Kegiatan lomba pidato bahasa Inggris dalam kegiatan Class Meeting ini diantaranya:
1. Memberi kesempatan kepada peserta didik yang memiliki kemampuan bahasa
Inggris untuk menunjukkan bakat dan kemampuan bahasa Inggris di depan
umum,
2. Menjaring peserta didik yang memiliki potensi akademik khususnya bahasa
Inggris
3. Mempersiapkan peserta didik yang berbakat dalam bahasa Inggris untuk
mengikuti perlombaan bahasa Inggris yang diadakan oleh MGMP Bahasa Inggris
Tingkat Kota Balikpapan

A. TEKS PIDATO TEMA PENTINGNYA PENDIDIKAN

The Importance of Education to Our Lives and Our Country

First of all, I would like to say good morning to the distinguished guests, my
respected teachers, and my dear friends. Today, in this great occasion, I would like to
speech on the importance of education to our lives and our country in the future.
My dear friends,
Each of us must have something that we’re good at. Each of us must have
something to offer. And we must discover what that is. This is what an education can
do to help us. Maybe one day, we could be a great writer, but we might not know it
until we write an essay in our language class. Maybe one day, we could be an
inventor, but we might not know it until we do our project in our science class. And
no matter what we want to do with our life, I believe that we need a good education
for every single one of those careers. We cannot drop out of school and just drop into
a good job. We need to practice for it and learn for it. And this is not only important
for our life and our future. What we do to our education will determine the future of
this country. The future of Indonesia depends on us.
We need the knowledge and problem-solving skills we learn in science and math
to cure diseases like cancer and AIDS, and to develop new energy technologies, and
protect our environment.We need the insights and critical thinking skills we gain in
history class to fight poverty, crime and discrimination, and make our nation more
peaceful. We need the creativity we develop in all our classes to build new
companies, that will create new jobs and boost our economy. If we don’t study, if we
quit on our school, we’re not only quitting on ourselves, but we’re also quitting on
our country.
My dear friends,
I know it’s not always easy to do well in school. I know what it’s like. I know a lot
of us have problems in their lives right now that can make it hard to focus on our
school work. I get it. Maybe your parents can’t give you the support that you need.
Maybe you get inappropriate behavior at school. Maybe you don’t like subjects that
you study. Maybe you don’t click with teachers that teach you. Also, maybe not all
homework assignment seems relevant to your life right now. And maybe you don’t
always succeed at everything the first time you try. It doesn’t matter. Most successful
people in the world got failures before they got success. Where you are right now
doesn’t always determine where you will be later. You are the one who make your
own future. So if you get into trouble, that doesn’t mean you’re a troublemaker. It
just means you need to try harder to act right.If you get a bad grade, that doesn’t
mean you’re stupid. It just means you need to spend more time to study.
No one is born being good at all things. We become good at things because of the
hard work. We are not a number one athlete in the first time we play a new sport. We
don’t speak smoothly in the first time we learn a new language. We need to practice.
Don’t be afraid to ask questions or help when you need it. Asking for help doesn’t
mean you are weak, but it shows you are strong enough to admit when you don’t
know something, and then, allows you to learn something new.
So, today, I want to ask all of you, what is your contribution going to be? What
problems are you going to solve? What discoveries will you make?
Our parents, our teachers, and this country expect much from each of us. Don’t
let them down. Make them all proud of us.

B. TEKS PIDATO TEMA HENTIKAN PEMBULIAN DI SEKOLAH

 Assalamu'alaikum Warahmatullahi wabarakatuh

First of all, let’s Say thanks to our God , Allah Swt. that give us health and chance,
so we can attend this meeting without any obstacle in this good place and time.
Secondly, Sholawat and Salam always be with our Prophet Muhammad Peace be
Upon Him, because his teaching, we are now live in the light of Islam.

The Teacher that I respect and my friend that I love

Let me tell you, yy speech title is Bullying.

Bullying is an act of intimidating, forcing, suppressing or even harassing someone

who is considered weaker. Bullying can happen to anyone, even in adults.
They usually throw the words that demean and make someone feel guilty for himself.
Usually, the victims of bullying will experience depression and not a few who
committed suicide.If you are the victim of bullying, you can do this step.
First, do not care about people that bullying you
Second, think Positive about yourself
Third, talk your bullying problem with your Parents, Bestfriend and teacher

The point is victims of bullying can not be silent and surrender yourself, it will
aggravate the situation.

The Conclusion in My Speech is Stop Bullying!

Maybe it's time for my finish, I'm sorry if i say a bad words and thank you for your
attention.

C. TEKS PIDATO TEMA DISIPLIN

Assalamualaikum Wr. Wb.,

Good morning, dear Madam, Mr. Teacher.

The honorable parents of students and friends who I love. May we always be in the
protection of Allah SWT.

On this occasion, I will deliver a speech about discipline.

First, I would like to open this speech with a question. How important is discipline to
our lives? Why should we be disciplined when being free is also fun?
Well, I think discipline is an application of regular activities in our daily lives. Just
like how important it is to eat regularly for our body.
By eating regularly, our bodies will easily recognize the schedule when we eat. So
that the body will metabolize well every day without the need for confusion about
when to eat.

Likewise, discipline in carrying out daily activities. At the beginning of its application,
it may be a bit difficult and heavy. However, if you get used to it and become a habit,
then everything we live in becomes lighter.
For example, for friends who have difficulty getting up in the morning. It’s a good
idea for friends to try to turn on an alarm or reminder every day. But, of course,
that’s not enough, you have to force yourself as hard as you can to stay awake and
not turn off the alarm.
Do this for at least 2 weeks. Then once you get used to it, you won’t need any more
reminders. Remember good discipline always starts in the morning. If you are getting
used to it, then you can try to target the next activity.
 By making a schedule and committing to do everything on time, you will become a
disciplined person who values everything, especially time.
That’s all my short speech. Hopefully useful and we can be disciplined and punctual.

D. TEKS PIDATO TEMA BELAJAR DENGAN GIAT

Let’s Building Our Learning spirit

Assalamu’alaikum wr.wb
With all due the respect to honorable Mr. Principal, to honorable Mr. Homeroom
teacher, to honorable Mr. and Mrs. Teachers as well as to my dearest companions.
First of all, let’s say our praise and gratitude to God the One and Almighty due to His
illimitable grace and blessing upon us so that in this good occasion and time we can
gather here in the best of our health.
Motivation to study of each person, from one person to others could be not the same.
Usually, it depends on what is wanted by the person concerned. For example, a child
will study and reach the first rank in his class because he was enticed to get a new
bicycle by his parents.
Another example, a student has strong motivation to study in order to pass the
examination by achieving the first rank or other general achievement. After that, he
plans on getting some great job in order to make his parents happy.
Motivation to study won’t be established if the person concerned doesn’t have any
longings, goals, or realize the benefits of studying for his own good. Therefore, certain
way of conditioning is needed, so that we or anybody who wants some spirits to
study will be motivated.
Here are some tips to increase our motivation to study:
1. Making friends or hanging out with people who like to study
Associating with people who like to study and have may achievements will make us
end up liking to study as well. Besides of that, we can try to find someone or some
community that has good habit in studying.
You can also try to question about experiences in various places to people who have
ever continued or are going on their education to higher level, like people who get
scholarship to study abroad or people who often get rewards for their achievements.
Their good habits and spirits will spread to us, such as the analogy of making friends
with a blacksmith or perfume seller. If we spend our times with a blacksmith, we
then will be affected by the smell of the burnt irons, while if we associate with a
perfume seller, we then will be affected by the scent of perfumes.
2. Studying and learning everything.
The definition of studying in this section is understood comprehensively, either
formal or informal. We can study and learn about many kinds of skills, such as
learning or studying how to assemble computer components, write kinds of writings,
make movies and films, become an entrepreneur, and many others.
3. Studying and Learning from internet
We can use internet to join with people who like to study. For example, if you are
interested in studying English, you can go to Belajaringgris.net.
4. Associating with people who are always optimistic and think positively
In this world, there are some people who always look so optimistic even though there
are having problems, for example; friends, lovers, or spouse. You can also do the
same thing by finding out someone or some community who can help to lead or
motivate you in studying and making achievements.

and dream when everyone is wishing.” – William A. Ward.
That’s all I would like to say. I wish what I said could be useful for all of us. I hope
that we can meet again sometime. Please forgive me for my mistaken words. Thank

E. TEKS PIDATO TEMA MEMATUHI PERATURAN SEKOLAH

Good Morning,

Peace be upon us all.

Today, I would like to address you a very important thing. It’s about obeying school
rules.

Regulations are made in this school, to ensure that learning activities can be running
smoothly. It will also make you as students learn more about discipline. It’s a
character that is very needed to be able to compete in real world.

“As I noticed several times, many students were late in class after lunch break.
Please don’t do that. Because it could distract other students too, and of course the
teacher. For example, if someone is late when the teacher is explaining things, of
course his arrival will slightly disturb the concentration of everyone in class. Besides,
those of you who come in the middle of the lesson will not be able to understand the
course well.”

Another example, in terms of uniforms. Schools have certain rules for uniform use,
and these rules must be followed. You see, there are still some students who don’t
wear uniforms equipment, such as vests and belts. The purpose of this rule is to
make students more presentable, and can be recognized as students from this
school.

Not only that, often times I still see some of you were smoking in the school area.
Aside from breaking the rules, smoking can also interfere with your health. As this
nation’s next generation, you must be able to maintain your health. Because if you
are healthy, of course you will be able to study well and have high achievement.

My dear student,

Maybe you are complaining because strict rules make it impossible for you to be free
on doing whatever you want to do. But believe me, these are all for your sake. After
you graduate from this school, the real world will have high demand of very strong
skills and discipline. So now is the chance when you can practice your discipline.

School is the right place to hone punctuality and compliance with regulations. When
you’re at work, your boss wouldn’t be so understanding like most of teachers.
Therefore, obeying the existing school rules now is important, so that you are
accustomed to obey the rules even after you graduate from school.

My dear children,

Hopefully what I convey to you this morning can be applied on your everyday life. Not
only when you are at school, but also when you are at home and other places too.
Remember, discipline is the key to success.

F. TEKS PIDATO TEMA MENGHORMATI GURU DAN ORANG TUA

Hello my friends,
Firstly, let’s thank unto our God Allah SWT. Who has given us mercies and blessings,
so we can join this competition, and also may Sholawat and Salam always be with to
our prophet Muhammad SAW.
I am sure, every day we must study. We study everything. Why we must study?
Because study will make our future be better. By study, we can know everything. We
can be clever. And the person who always helps us to study is a teacher. Teacher
always accompanies us to study lessons. Everyday teacher comes to school to teach
us. Patiently, teacher guide us in order to able reading, writing. When we find difficult,
teacher always comes helps us. Oh, my teacher, you are such as hero in my heart.
And we never forget. The persons who always take care us from baby until we grow up
now, who are they? Yes, that’s right; they are our parents, father and mother. Father
always works to earn money for us and never tired, looks for prosperity for us. So we
can eat and go to study. Then mother, the person who always cares us from morning
until night. She always prepares what we need.
My friends,
Teacher and parent are people who make merit in our live. So, we must honor to them.
They always help us for future.
The best way for us as student and son is always praying them. Never forget call them
in every our praying. And absolutely, they will never forget praying us, because our
future depends on their praying. Never make them disappointed. Let’s honor our
teacher and our parent as well as possible. So we can take bright future easily,
InsyaAllah.
