Guidelines for Your Mini-Presentation (Introduction Only)

Your Task

You will give a short individual presentation (1–2 minutes) of only the introduction part of a
presentation.

Focus on: greeting, topic, purpose, roadmap, and clear delivery.

What to Include in Your Introduction?

1. Greeting & Attention Grabber

Say hello and start in a professional way.

Use a question, fact, short story, or quote to catch attention.

2. Purpose/Topic Statement

Clearly tell the audience your topic.

Explain why it’s important or interesting.

3. Outline (Roadmap)

Tell the audience what your main points will be.

Use signposting words: “First…, Next…, Finally…”

4. Clarity & Language

Use clear sentences.

Check your grammar and pronunciation.

Use academic vocabulary if possible.

5. Delivery (Voice, Eye Contact, Body Language)

Speak loudly and clearly.

Look at the audience, not just your notes.

Stand with good posture, use natural gestures, and avoid fidgeting.

Peer Feedback Guidelines (no scores)

When giving feedback, focus on: Was the greeting and topic clear? Did the speaker explain what the
presentation will cover? Was it easy to understand and follow?
