Climate

Due to the considerable extension from north to south,

from east to west, America has almost the entirety
of the existing climates. Among the coasts of
Mexico, the west of Nicaragua and the south of Brazil,
it is developed thewarm climatein the plains
coastal and mountain slopes. Theclimate

the Atlantic slope. The temperate climate with
rain throughout the year extends in the
coastal strips of Canada, Alaska and south
ofChile,producing zones offorestmixed
while the temperate with rain in summer is the
more widespread climate over the continent,
mainly in the southeastern portion of the United States, central Mexico and
southeast of Brazil. AndMediterranean climateis located atCaliforniaand theValley

Climatic Zones of Europe.

Biogeographical regions of Europe.

The European continent is mostly a temperate zone. Its climate not only
It varies from north to south but also from west to east due to air currents.
marine polar and continental polar, and to a lesser extent from air currents
marine tropical and continental tropical.
In Europe, the following climates can be distinguished:

. Mediterranean climate: between 30º and 45º latitude one can find the
Mediterranean climate. It is important to highlight the aridity that occurs during the
summer caused by the subtropical, and the winter humidity due to the front
polar.

. Oceanic climate: it is a climate that encompasses the shores of the Atlantic Ocean and
goes fromNorwayto the northern coast ofPortugal.Into the interior of
on the continent, the oceanic climate is disappearing and turning into a climate
continental. It has ahumidityconstant and moderate temperatures without
large fluctuations.
. Continental climate: it is characterized by the contrast between precipitation,
high summer temperatures and the dry cold of winter. The high temperatures
the summer causes the evaporation of water that falls in the form of
downpours are very high.

. Tundra climate: occurs between 60 and 80 degrees latitude, in Russia and to the north.

(around 250 mm on average) and a constant cold with highs of 10 °C
throughout the year.

. Mountain climates: in mountain climate, the temperature decreases by 0.5 to

1 °C for every 100 meters of height, which increases therelative humidity
air and causes precipitation.
Climatic Zones of Asia.
Asia presents a great climatic and vegetation diversity: from the dry
desert landscapes to the lush rainforest, and geographical characteristics
that present many types of climates.
Warm climates
The main types of warm climate in Asia are: equatorial, humid tropical,
tropical dry and desert. The first two, characterized by their abundance
precipitations spread throughout Southeast Asia, both in its part
continental through the Indostan and Indochina peninsula, as in the insular by the
archipelagos of Indonesia and the Philippines

On the other hand, the desert and dry tropical climates, in which the precipitation
they are scarce, found in the Middle East, the Arabian Peninsula, Iran, and Central Asia.
Along with these climates, in the south and east there is also the monsoonal climate, a
specific climatic variety of Asia, whose main characteristic is the
displacement of air masses from the ocean to the continent during the
summer and in the opposite direction in winter. Due to this, the monsoon climate
it presents seasonal rains and a fluctuation of daily and annual temperature
greater than in the equatorial climate. They are classified as: tropical rainy climate, climate
monsoonal tropical
[edit]Temperate climates
The main types of temperate climate in Asia are continental climate.
continental has very cold and dry winters, and mild summers with more
precipitations. It occurs in the Siberian region.
The Mediterranean climate, with irregular rainfall and mild temperatures
in winter and warm in summer, it extends along the coasts of the peninsula of
Anatolia, Syria, and Palestine.
Varieties similar to the Mediterranean climate type, but with precipitation
much more abundant in the summer months, they occur in coastal areas of
China, South Korea, and Japan.
[edit]Cold climates
The main types of cold climate in Asia are the high mountains, typical of the
interior high plateaus, and the polar, which occurs in the northernmost extremity of
continent
Climate zones of Africa.
Despite its large size, Africa has a range of climates and vegetation.
relatively reduced. Africa is located, almost entirely, between the tropic
of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn, so their climates and vegetation
associated belong, in general, to the intertropical types. Moreover, their great
size, especially in the north, makes processes present that
continentalization. In terms of vegetation, we find threelarge
imperiosbbiogeographical: the Holarctic, on the northern facade, and the Paleotropical that
dominates the rest of the continent, and the Capense which is located at the southern tip.
Between the Holoartic empire and the Paleotropical one, there is a wide transition zone, in
the center of the Sahara. These three empires are divided into two ecozones, the Holarctic
and the Paleotropical.
Climates
The maritime climate of the west coast only appears in some Atlantic islands.
very far north, like the Azores or Madeira.
The Mediterranean climate is found in a narrow strip of the northern coast, in the
zone between the Atlas and the coast, that is, in the north of Morocco and Tunisia. It is
precisely the Atlas that prevents a greater development of this climate in Africa.
In addition, it appears at the southern tip of the continent, in the region of Cape.
it is linked to the Cape biogeographical empire.

The dry subtropical climate is found in North Africa, between the coast, or the
Mediterranean climate, and the Sahara, and in the south in wide areas of South Africa. No
however, it is quite a narrow strip and it quickly transitions to
dry tropical climate.
The dry tropical climate is found in most of the Sahara and along the coast.
South Atlantic of Africa, primarily the coast of Namibia, associated with the
Benguela cold current.
The dry and humid tropical climate is found in much of Africa around the
Ecuador. In the north, it extends from east to west from the Rif valley to the
Atlantic coast along the north of the Gulf of Guinea; and in the south from the region of
the Great Lakes to the Atlantic coast in Angola.
The monsoon climate and the trade winds on the coast are found on the coast of
Indian between Madagascar, Mozambique, and Somalia. Penetrates into the Rif valley.

The rainy equatorial climate is found in the center of the continent, in a wide area.
band that extends from the mouth of the Congo River to the Rif Valley.
Climate zones of Oceania.
Despite its limited extent, Oceania presents examples of a large part of the
climates of the world, of course, most of them in Australia. The islands of
The Pacific presents a typical zonal climate, but it is heavily modified by the
presence of the sea, which gives them climates with very characteristic features
specific conditions on each island. In general, the islands closest to the equator have a
equatorial climate and those closest to the tropics, a dry and humid tropical climate,
although the dry periods are usually very short. Above the tropics the
islands tend to the maritime climate of the west coast.

In Oceania we find up to three major biogeographic empires: the

Paleotropical, which extends over most of the islands, especially in the
Pacific, the Australian, which extends over Australia, Tasmania and the islands
close, and Antarctica, present in New Zealand and the southern islands. Without
All these differences come together in a single ecozone: the Australian.
Climate
The tundra climate has a testimonial presence on some islands near the
Antarctica.
The maritime climate of the west coast is found in New Zealand, Tasmania, and
in the southeast corner of Australia around the Australian Alps.
The Mediterranean climate is present in the environment of Cape Leeuwin, in the corner
southwestern Australia, and around the Spencer Gulf, leeward of the Alps
Australians.
The humid subtropical climate is found in the center of the western coast of
Australia, north of the Australian Alps.
The dry subtropical climate is found in a narrow strip in the south of Australia,
very close to the coast.
The dry tropical climate extends over most of Australia, it is the most
represented and occupies the entire center of the country.

north of Australia and on the mountainous islands of the Pacific.

The rainy equatorial climate is found in Papua New Guinea and the islands of
Pacific that are around the equator.
