PATTERN

The Bloomlet Poncho is worked flat in a light and airy eyelet pattern. The eyelets are created
using yarn overs and knit two together. It’s an easy rhythm to get into once you get started.
When the desired length is reached, the poncho is seamed along one side. The cotton yarn
makes it cool and comfortable - perfect to throw over a summer dress on breezy evenings. A
simple, summery project with an elegant feel.

EDGE STITCH
To achieve a neat edge, bring the yarn to the front and slip the first stitch purlwise with the
yarn in front. Always knit the last stitch on every row, regardless of whether you’re on the
right or wrong side.

Tip! Make sure to keep your tension tight when working the eyelet pattern - this helps the
holes stay neat and well-defined. If your stitches are too loose, the pattern may look unclear.
If the pattern isn’t lining up, double-check your stitch count to make sure you have the
correct number of stitches on the needle.

Getting started:
Cast on 82 (92) 92 (102) 112 stitches using 5 mm circular needles (60 cm).
Row 1 (WS): Purl
Row 2: Knit
Row 3: Purl
On Row 4, begin working the eyelet chart (starting from the RS). Work back and forth while
following the chart. Continue until the piece measures approx. 94 (96) 98 (100) 102) cm and
do not bind-off yet. Steam and block the piece - this helps the pattern open up and smooth
out and allows the fabric to stretch slightly. Measure the piece again after blocking. Continue
knitting if needed, until the total length is approx. 105 (110) 112 (116) 118 cm or desired
length. Bind off all stitches loosely.

FINISHING
Sew the poncho together along one side. From the outer edge and in towards the neckline,
sew approximately 15-18 cm (or your desired length). Try it on and adjust according to your
preference. Weave in all loose ends. If you have a sewing machine, you can alternatively sew
the shoulder seam with it.
