Enhancing Teaching Practice through Theory, Strategy, and Reflective Practice

Title

In pursuit of quality education and teacher excellence, it is imperative that educators engage in continuous professional
development. Results of the recent school-based Learning and Development Needs Assessment (LDNA) and RPMS-PPST
outputs indicate that teachers need deeper understanding and application of learning theories, lesson planning grounded on
Rationale theory, and innovative strategies for instruction. Moreover, the need to enhance teachers’ capacity in reflective practice,
feedback utilization, and microteaching emerged as critical areas of growth.
Aligned with DepEd Order No. 42, s. 2017 (National Adoption and Implementation of the Philippine Professional Standards for
Teachers), this INSET responds to the call for strengthened content knowledge, pedagogical skills, and reflective practice. This
3-day training is designed to deepen teachers’ understanding of learning theories and strategies, improve instructional planning,
and build a culture of reflective teaching and continuous improvement. It also supports the implementation of the Basic
Education Development Plan (BEDP) 2030 by contributing to teacher quality and instructional effectiveness.

Program This 3-day School-Based In-Service Training (INSET) aims to strengthen teachers’ instructional practices by deepening their
Description understanding of learning theories and enhancing their ability to apply these in lesson planning, teaching strategies, and reflective
practice. Centered on practical application, the training includes sessions on strategy mapping, microteaching, and action planning to
promote evidence-based and learner-centered instruction. By the end of the training, participants will be able to design theory-aligned
lesson plans, demonstrate effective teaching strategies, reflect meaningfully on their practice, and develop actionable plans for
