ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

I am thankful to Impact Systems Pvt.Ltd and Mr.Shriram Dhotre for giving

me opportunity to make a field visit on printers report. I am thankful to Dhotre sir

for making us aware about the different parts, machanisum, head, and sencer of

network printer. I am also thankful to my friends, who helped me to complete the

report. I am thanks to all staff members of Jetking Institute for their co-operation.

Last but not least I am thankful to all who helped directly or indirectly for

completion of my report.
Introduction

The Printer is a device that prints documents and images on paper. It is a peripheral

Output device. It prints data that is processed by the computer. Printers are broadly

Classified in two groups, impact printers and non-impact printers, impact printers

Include Dot Matrix Printer and non-impact printers and Laser printer. We can also

Classify printers on the features like usage of color and fonts.

Types Of Printer

There are two types of Printer.

1] Impact Printers

2] Non-Impact Printers
1] Impact Printer:-

Types of Impact Printer:-

a] DMP Printers

b] DFY Printers

c] Passbook Printers

d] Link Printers

2] Non-Impact Printer:-

Types of Non-Impact Printer:-

a] Inkjet Printer

b] Laser Printer
Compare Impact & Non-Impact Printer

Non-Impact Printer
Impact Printer

1. ImpactPrinters are used for Printing 1. The Non-Impact Printers are

documents as well as graphics. characterized by a quiet operation.
2. Physical contact is not established
between print head, cartridge (ribbon)
2. The working of impact printer is very
and media (paper).
similar to that of the typewriter.
3. Inkjet and Laser printers are types
of non-impact printers.
3. Impact printers are those printers
where a physical contact is established
between print head, cartridge (ribbon)
and media (paper).

a] DMP :- Dot Matrix Printer

Dot matrix printer uses a matrix of metal pins on the electromagnet

print head to create dots. The number of metal pins in the dot matrix printers varies
from 9to24.Dot –matrix printers have a speed of 30to500 characters per second

(CPS).Generally, it is connected with the parallel (LPT) port of the system.

2]
A] Inkjet/DeskJet Printers :-

An inkjet printer places extremely minute

amounts of electrically charged ink on paper to create images or text. The drops of

ink are sprayed through a series of nozzles. These drops are around 60 microns in
diameter and are positioned with very high precision. Inkjet printers use color as

well as monochrome cartridges. This type of printer provides high quality printing

at affordable price. This printer is connected with the parallel (LPT)or USB port of

the system. The power supply of the printer provides electricity to function.

Nowadays, some printers use the serial port, USB

(Universal Serial Bus) port or Small Computer System Interface (SCSI port for

connecting to the computer) .Inkjet printers have a speed of paper per minute

(PPM).

IV]Thermal Technology :-
Some heat is applied on the cartages.
Cartages cable, Left Black & Right Color mixing primary
3 color.

2]
B] Laser Printers:-
The laser printer uses a beam of laser for the purpose of

printing. The laser printer functions on the principle of static electricity. Electric

charge that accumulates on an insulated object is called static electricity. Objects

that have oppositely charged fields of static electricity are attracted to each other.

This happens in the same manner as oppositely charged atoms are attracted to each

other. The laser printer uses this properly to combine ink powder and paper.

The laser printer consists of a revolving cylinder that is

made up of photoconductive material. The drum is charged with the help of a

charging wire called the charge corona wire. This wire has electric current passing

through it.
Working Of a Laser Printer

Steps Function

Cleaning Cleans prior image information and toner from the drum.

Conditioning Enforces a uniform negative charge to the drum.

Writing Light sources such as lasers, Led or LCS (Liquid Crystal

Shutter) write to areas on the drum discharging the negative
potential where it hits.

Developing Lionizes the drum with a negative charge. The toner is

attracted to the areas previously written (discharged)on the
drum.
Transfer Transfers the toner of the drum to the paper by a positively
ionized field

Fusing Applies heat and pressure to the paper and toner.

CONCLUSION
The report Networking Printer completed using the instructions given in the

manual. We have learnt about the Industrial applications of also printer the of

skillful performance in the field of Networking. It has helped me to the gain

knowledge and valuable insights into Impact Systems Pvt, Ltd.
