Mary Anne Cecil has th agreed to organize our parish effort contact her at 477-6035 with any questions or if you can assist on August 4 . Parish Opportunities for Prayer: Consider joining the parishioners who gather each week on Wednesday at 6:30 PM, to pray the Rosary, followed by a Communion Service led by Deacon-Candidate Carl Fahringer at 7:00 PM. On Thursdays, our pastor, Fr. Dale celebrates Mass at 8:30 AM, and all who are able are encouraged to participate. RCIA: If you, or someone you know, may be interested in joining the Catholic Church, and would like to join this group, contact Marilena Wertz at 477-8534, or mlwertz@wertz.us. A group of Inquirers meet with the RCIA team each Sunday at 9:45-11:15 AM. Please pray for those in the process and for the members of the Catechetical team. Adult Faith Formation: Instead of having a Bible study this summer/fall, the parish will offer an 8-week video session entitled Walking Toward Eternity. There's no "homework" or "answers," but we will have a prayer journal to help guide us during the week. Read the bulletin insert for more information, or contact Carl Fahringer at 477-6676. Family Faith Formation: Monthly and weekly publications for your spiritual reading and activity pages for children are available on the table near the loft stairs, along with free copies of the June/July issue of Catholic Digest. Music Ministry: The Sunday Music Ministers continue their summer break during the month of July. Potluck Dishes: Some of the plates, dishes and pans brought to recent meals are on the countertop in the corner of the kitchen please stop by and pick up any that belong to you, preferably before the Yard Sale thanks! Spencer County Food Pantry: Your donations of non-perishable food for our local food pantry can be dropped off in the baskets/boxes outside the Parish Offices. Consider this a way to honor one of our former pastors, Fr. Jack Jones, nd who passed away on June 22 , and to assist those families who are having difficulty making ends meet. Altar Society: Those interested in forming an Altar Society to care for the parishs liturgical vestments and linens, are asked to contact Pat Douglas at 836-4526. St. Joseph Orphans' Picnic: The St. Joseph Catholic Orphan Society is in Phase I of a capital campaign to raise funds for residential cottages to be built behind their main building on Frankfort Avenue. Their website is www.sjkids.org and www.sjkidsfoundation.org. Their annual fundraiser, the Annual Orphans' Picnic has been going on for 163 consecutive years to defray the $6 million yearly budget to care for children in need, who are removed from their homes due to crisis, most often neglect and abuse, many relating to drugs and alcohol. Their average stay is 380 days. The Annual Orphans' Picnic will be held on Saturday, August 11th. All are welcome! AA meets at 7:30 PM every Tuesday in the Parish Hall.
