A group of varsity sport team captains from the U.S. Naval Academy gathered in Gettysburg, Penn., July 19-20 to discuss the leadership challenges they will face in the upcoming academic year. The two-day retreat was designed to give the midshipmen the opportunity to attend seminars on various leadership topics and discuss their obligations both to their teams and to the Brigade of Midshipmen. Varsity captains are often confronted with some very vexing leadership challenges, said Cmdr. Wes Huey, chair of the Leadership, Development and Research Department.
