Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction was founded in 1962 and has grown into a power generation facilities specialist, capable of building all types of power plants, to include nuclear, thermal, combined cycle and hydroelectric. Doosan is an EPC service provider who can perform all processes in-house, from design and material fabrication to installation, commissioning and construction.

2. Nuclear Power Plants

We are the only manufacturer in Korea during last 3 decades with nuclear power plant specialist, serving both domestic and overseas clients. Our expertise in this field is recognized worldwide.

3. Water Plants
The world's foremost supplier of seawater desalination systems (multi-effect desalination, multistage flash distillation and reverse osmosis) and have recently expanded into water treatment.

4. Castings & Forgings

Based on in-house technology for large scale of castings and forgings, we bolstered our global market position by acquiring Kvaerner IMGB in Romania.

5. Construction
We boast world-class competitiveness in constructing infrastructure (high-speed railways, roads, and ports), power plants, commercial buildings and residential buildings including SOC Businesses.

New Paradigm of Wind Power System for Offshore & Onshore

As a specialist in power generation facilities, Doosan has accumulated know-how and experiences over the past 30 years. These competencies were leveraged to develop the WinDS3000TM. The achievement of our design is high reliability, availability, maintainability and serviceability (RAMS), while producing electricity at low cost. I. BLADE
Blade Design : Upgraded Technology for Optimal Aerodynamics and Minimal Weight
The blade converts the wind energy into mechanical energy. The innovative design optimizes the blade's aerodynamics, increasing efficiency and reducing the dynamic load. The improvements the structural design and fabrication technologies enabled to develop a blade with 44 meters long and weighing 10 tons. The Blade has a robust structure yet is lighter than conventional models.

II. INTEGRATED DRIVE TRAIN

Innovative Integrated Drive Train
The WinDS3000 TM features an integrated drive train without main shaft, lightening the nacelle, reducing the system load and vibration.

III. GEARBOX
Gearbox : Compact Design & High Reliability
WinDS3000 TM uses differential gears, flexible pins and a rotating housing to achieve high efficiency and reliability while reducing

the gearbox size and lightening by 30% compared with conventional models. The gearbox durability has been improved, an advantage considering the high cost and time required to replace broken parts, especially when the turbine is located in an hardlyaccessible place such as offshore.

IV. GENERATOR
Permanent Magnet Generator
WinDS3000 TM is equipped with a permanent magnet generator that delivers a high yield even under partial loads.

Furthermore, the full-power converter system provides better grid-friendly characteristics.

V. SERVICE
Service
WinDS3000 TM is supported by highly responsive and precise service system to ensure your satisfaction.

The internal maintenance crane promises elevating the efficiency of operation, maintenance and repair services.

All parts and components have been specially treated to resist corrosion from seawater, while the cooling system is completely closed. In addition, the internal cranes for maintenance and repair as well as a remote monitoring and diagnosis system ensure that we can accommodate your every need for offshore.
